6 Android Smartphones With The “Best” Battery Life

Owning a smartphone has its advantages and disadvantages. With a smartphone, you have in the palm of your hand, so many awesome tools at your disposal, in an amazing touch screen, and powered by powerful processors. But, there are times that you have to make that urgent and important phone call, and discover that those wonderful apps, the big display, and speedy processor, have just drained your phone battery dry. How do you deal with the problem of battery life?

One solution I employ is to own two handsets ? a smartphone to avail of the apps and tools, and a non-smartphone (or what is simply known as a ?cell phone?, and has a battery life that can last a week). Others opt to bring along a separate battery unit, to boost their batt, when it is running low.

But, if you are not the type of person who wants to carry around another device or accessory, just to make sure you have a phone to make that important call, you can opt to pick a smartphone with the most impressive battery life.

For iOS smartphones or iPhones, your choice is limited, as there are only a few models that are out in the market at a given time, and the battery life is more or less the same. It is a different matter for Android devices, as there are many manufacturers who churn out dozens and dozens of Android smartphones, all year long.

Here is a list we compiled (based on statistics provided by, and the current smartphones in the market), on the ?best? Android smartphones, in terms of battery life.

Note: Milliamps Hour (mAh) is important because it’s the easiest way to distinguish the strength or capacity of a battery. In principle, the higher the mAh, the longer the battery will last. However, other factors such as display size (especially for phablets), and processors, affect battery life. Which is why in the list below, some smartphones that have lower mAh, have more battery life than the others with a higher mAh.

5th Runner up: HTC One M8

  • 20 hours talk time
  • 2,600 mAh Battery
  • Carriers: AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon

4th Runner up: Samsung Galaxy Note 3

  • 21 hours talk time
  • 3,200 mAh Battery
  • Carriers: AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, Virgin and US Cellular

3rd Runner up: Motorola DROID MAXX

  • 24 hours talk time
  • 3,500 mAh Battery
  • Carrier: Verizon

2nd Runner up: HTC One Max

  • 25 hours talk time
  • 3,300 mAh Battery
  • Carrier: Verizon and Sprint

1st Runner up: Motorola DROID Mini

  • 28 hours talk time
  • 2,000 mAh Battery
  • Carrier : Verizon

Winner: Samsung Galaxy S5

  • 29 hours talk time
  • 2,800 mAh Battery
  • Carriers: T-Mobile, Verizon, Virgin, Boost Mobile, Metro PCS, Sprint, AT&T, and US Cellular

So there it is. For the ?best? battery life for Android phones, any of these 6 smartphones will give you a fighting chance in the battle for having enough smartphone ?battery life?.
