Just a few days ago, Nintendo released a small Nintendo Direct video ?about Tomodachi Life going to the west. The game is pretty much a mixture of Animal Crossing and Sims. The game uses Mii characters as your avatar. Tomodachi Life will be released in North America and Europe on June 6. Tomodachi Life was nearly as popular as any other Nintendo game like Animal Crossing, Zelda series and Mario in Japan. It sold more than 5 million copies.

According to Scott Moffitt, this unique game will leave 3DS owners something to look forward to as there are tons of content in the game which they will want to see. ?Nintendo fans are familiar with Mii characters, but now they come to life in ways they never have before ? with their own lives, interests and personalities. Customization and open-ended play are two big video game trends for 2014, and Tomodachi Life delivers a fun, creative experience that makes you want to visit again and again, because there?s always something interesting going on.? Tomodachi Life is a very unique game.

Calling it a ?game? might even be an understatement. There are no goals to meet or any story that you need to follow. Just like what it is with Animal Crossing. What Bill Trinnen, Nintendo?s senior product marketing manager, think is that Tomodachi Life is more like a Social Media, with gameplay. You get to meet people, observe and check out what they are doing. Share things and your thoughts. Interact with them. Pretty much like today?s social media outlets. Still, there are some gaming elements like leveling up your Mii, collecting items, collecting more coins to be able to acquire more items etc.

Tomodachi Life is indeed a quirky game on its own and some people may find it weird. It is weird and Nintendo is aware of that. That weirdness gives the game its charm and Nintendo is well known for making innovations in the video game industry.
