A new game studio is about to make ?history as two of the most legendary video game developers are teaming up.
According to sources, game designer and the man behind EPIC games, Jazz Jackrabbit, Unreal, and Gears of War franchises, Cliff Bleszinski, is setting up his own game studio. Additionally, he is accompanied by one of the most renowned producers, Arjan Brussee.
Over the span of two decades, Bleszinski worked at EPIC Games for the development of Jazz Jackrabbit, Unreal Tournament and Gears of War before his retirement back on October 2012. But he made another statement January 2013, saying that he would like to come back and return to AAA game development. But if he was to do that, he would do it starting on his own large- scale studio.
And during that time, he was beginning to do something about what he wanted to do, and that is to make a first-person arena shooter for PC. He also shared a screenshot of what he was doing via Twitter back in August 2013.
Now, Arjan Brussee helped Bleszinski several times on his work back when he was still working at EPIC. As for Brussee, he was known for his work on Guerilla and serve as a production director for nine years. He also worked as an executive producer at Visceral Games, the developer of ?Battlefield Hardline.
A new company located in Raleigh, North Carolina was registered under his name. On the filed report, it stated a “Boss Key Productions” certificate of authority, including Bleszinski, named as the CEO, and Brussee, as its COO. As for now, they are the only registered and current officers.
Recent events confirmed that the Boss Key website was already live just less than a week after Bleszinski mentioned something about ?getting out of retirement? in his Twitter post. Bleszinski always had the desire to create awesome PC games and we sure hope that the one he?s been working on will keep his epic legacy.
