In a normal 9-to-5 office, early morning meetings can be the most boring and dreadful thing. ?Clearly not in Apple?s Cupertino Headquarters since Tim Cook, amidst rumors ?of iPhone 7 release this September and next year?s iPhone 8, just announced to his staff early Thursday morning that the company has just reached?1?billion iPhone sales since its launch in 2007.
This is truly surprising since the company waited for 7 years before they reached their 500-million milestone. This one only taking just over two years.
iPhone 7 Release
The news came out yesterday amidst rumors of the impending release of their next flagship model, the iPhone 7, for the smartphone market. Sources reveal that pre-orders for iPhone 7 will start on the 9th of September. About a week later, Apple will start marketing the bigger version, the iPhone 7 Plus.
iPhone 8 Rumors
Along with the buzz of the latest iteration of the iPhone, speculations are rife that the company is gearing up for the release of iPhone 8. This model will mark the phone?s 10th anniversary.
Rumor has it that this future model, due to release in 2017, will introduce a plethora of new features. Features like edge-to-edge OLED display with integrated camera and Touch ID or home button, wireless charging capability, full glass body, and a new and faster A11 processor are expected.
The Future of Apple
iPhone 5C notwithstanding, it is quite curious whether Apple will decide to do a follow up for its mildly successful iPhone SE. Surely, Apple is completely aware that there is still a niche in the smartphone market for models catering to the more budget-conscious individuals. No one knows really. Consumers could be looking at a new re-worked model of the current flagship within the next six months or so.
Cloaked in complete secrecy, one can only speculate on what the company will present to its patrons in the coming years. News of new upcoming models are somewhat pigmented as they rely on leaked photos from known whistleblowers. These whistleblowers are our only hope of gleaming into what Apple has in store for their fans including the iPhone 8.
