The threat of World War 3 looms large for the world as major military powers practice aggressive maneuvers against each other. WW3 predictions are high. Though the U.S., Russia and European nations are involved in the Syrian conflict, tensions in the Eastern European border look set to unleash a thermonuclear war.
WW3 Predictions: NATO Military Drills on Russian Border
Some 4,000 troops from 11 NATO states including – the U.S., U.K., Germany, Canada, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Luxembourg and three Baltic states have launched the largest military drills in Lithuania, close to the Russian border.
The military drills – dubbed “Iron Sword” – are believed to be a preparation to stop Putin from invading Eastern Europe, reports ExpressUK. The Lithuanian defence ministry said the military drills will be carried out in the towns of Rukla and Pabrade, close to the Kaliningrad region.
The decision follows Russian deployment of S-400 air defence systems and Iskander missile launchers to Kaliningrad. The drills are expected to last until December 2 before NATO finally stations the 4,000 troops in Poland, Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia.
Putin Threatens Europe
Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin threatened to even further move the nuclear-capable missiles closer to Europe.
“We are concerned by Nato decision making,” Mr. Putin said in an interview broadcasted earlier. “We have, therefore, to take countermeasures, which means to target with our missile systems the facilities that in our opinion start posing a threat to us.”
Military analysts are concerned of Moscow’s emboldened measures to take on the European Union and NATO alliances. Fear of WW3 in the air has never been as high. Following Donald Trump’s taking office as the United States President, European members fear a far more proactive response from Kremlin.
However, Europe has promised not to wait for Putin to wage war. With or without the United States, the European nations are preparing for war against Russia. The European Parliament decided to proceed with plans to enhance military cooperation following Trump’s election.
Non-NATO members such as Sweden also feel threatened by the emerging power of Russia. The Scandinavian nation is too preparing for war. They moved its land-based Kustrobotbatteri 90 weapons launcher to the island of Gotland.
With so much military activity in the European front, fears of a WW3 are indeed concerning. Will 2017 see a Europe v Russia WW3? Will Trump and the U.S. betray their NATO alliance? Let’s hope it never comes to that. In the meantime stay tuned to TheBitBag for the latest WW3 updates.
