finally my first desktop lol (laptop user)

well this is kinda sad this will be my first desktop computer. currently a notebook user. my specs are below. question though. i know Torrence will have an answer for this. i would like come older computer games. nothing crazy old my commadore64 old but some older gems. probably older than these...doom 3, quake 4, unreal 2004. doesnt have to be fps. racing games, rpg, action/horror. pretty much anything really. never really got into pc gming but always wanted too. i had some extra cash laying around so i decided i would through a cheap pc together so i ordered parts on sunday now await the day they arrive.

ASUS Radeon HD 4850

Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P

Amd Athlon Ii X2 250

G.SKILL ripjaws 4gb ddr3 1333

LG DVD drive

Corsair VX450

Xigmatek HDT-S1283

Western Digital Caviar Black 500GB

Antec Three Hundred

so yeah. any help would be great.

Check out GOG.com and Steam
They have a lot of good games for really cheap.

May I ask why you bought a really cheap processor but bought DDR 3 RAM? That extra money for the ram and motherboard would be better spent on a better processor. Well since you have already read up on it you might as well OC it a bit (not too much since the Multiplier isn't unlocked)

Now you were going to ask a question but never did.

i bought ddr3 ram because i wanted to and the mobo is only 70 something dollars so i dunno how much money i would save on that. and the ram was 84 bucks . also may have only saved a bit on other ram as well. and as i mentioned this is a cheap pc around 600 before tax. not sure what i was gonna ask that torrence would have an answer for.

Yes exactly thats why DDR 2 ram would have been a better option allowing you to put more money into a better processor.......
