The prestigious and much awaited event for the hard-core gamers, game developers, and producers has just ended. The Game Awards 2016 has finally showed to everyone their gaming victors. Also, the event included world premieres of different games, including Telltale’s Guardians Of The Galaxy.
There was a short trailer of Telltale’s Guardians Of The Galaxy that features a floating cassette tape player that ran yet another retro song. This item belongs to none other than the infamous “Star Lord,” Peter Quill.
This finally confirmed speculations that a new Guardians of The Galaxy game is in the works. If you could remember, the team behind Marvel announced that they will be working alongside Telltale to produce a new game. However, both parties kept quiet as to what IP they were working on.
The trailer shows that the said game will be a five-part episodic series. It will soon be released on consoles such as PS4, Xbox One, PC, Android, iOS and probably even more. Telltale’s games have been available on numerous platforms, and those on last gen consoles surely won’t miss out on this game. The target premiere date would probably be around 2017, in line with the release of the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 movie which will hit theaters on May 5, 2017.
What To Expect
A blog post by Kevin Turner, co-founder and CEO of Telltale Games, reads, “The energizing blend of humor, emotion, teamwork and full on sci-fi action-adventure of the Guardians provides an enormously satisfying space to explore through Telltale’s unique style of interactive storytelling.”
“In Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series, players will take on multiple roles within the ragtag band of heroes, and take the pilot’s seat in directing their escapades around the universe,” Turner said. With this, players can expect to choose among Star Lord, Groot, Gamora, Rocket Raccoon and other heroes as they go about their misadventures.
Telltale’s Guardians Of The Galaxy will finally give us the feel of being in Quinn’s awesome group. With retro songs to back you up as you fight foes form all around the galaxy, what could go wrong?
