Is everyone ready for Grand Theft Auto 5 details? Has everyone been ready since the launch of the first teaser? Has everyone been ready since the first full-length trailer? How about since E3, when the game was eerily missing from the biggest gaming event of the year? Yes, we’ve all been waiting patiently (and in some cases not so patiently) for more details on the next iteration in Rockstar’s iconic franchise, but soon our thirst will be quenched with an issue of Game Informer including 18 pages of mouth-watering GTA V details. Up for download and shipped out to subscribers on November 8th!

The announcement comes from Game Informer’s official website. It certainly isn’t surprising in light of recent events, such as Rockstar creating an official facebook page for the game, and Game Informer announcing that December’s cover will be GTA V. The issue will surely include an abundance of new screens and details including the story element, new features, and possibly even the one thing we’ve all been waiting for – a release date. Another question on the minds of gamers is whether GTA V will make an appearance on the Wii U. All this and more could appear in the upcoming Game Informer, so let’s keep our eyes peeled and stay frosty.

With the news that Microsoft will be opening a store in the UK and 74 other locations, one has to wonder whether this will actually work in Microsoft’s favour. With Apple covering 13 countries with 363 stores, Microsoft has to overcome its rival by a huge margin – how big? Well, almost quadruple the amount.

Microsoft currently has 19 stores and even with the upcoming 75 stores Microsoft promises, it means that the company needs 3.8 times more outlets to match Apple in the retail department. The problem Microsoft currently faces is the fact that the upcoming surface tablet will only be available exclusively at Microsoft retail stores or Microsoft’s online store around its launch, whereas, the competition’s iPad is available at other major electronics stores. This decision already puts Microsoft at a substantial disadvantage and although there will no-doubt be other means of obtaining a Surface tablet, we can ensure that stocks will not last forever.

However, the placement of Microsoft’s new store in the UK could prove crucial to the success of Microsoft’s exciting upcoming devices. Currently in London, are 5 Apple stores: there is one in Covent Garden, Stratford, Brent Cross, White City and Regent Street. These stores are placed well, but anyone who’s a fellow Londoner like me would suggest placing Microsoft’s new store dead-centre of Oxford Street or Piccadilly Circus – Why? Well, Oxford Street and Piccadilly Circus are tourist and shopping attractions for people visiting the UK’s capital and the store would be relatively easy to get to for people from inner and outer London – and let’s not forget it’s the one of the few places in London where Apple hasn’t opened a store.

Regardless of where Microsoft decides to place its store in London, the company needs to select locations for its retail stores wisely due to the near-enough 4:1 ratio of Apple to Microsoft’s stores. Currently, the only way of obtaining exclusive Microsoft-branded items in the UK, is when the Microsoft online retail store will launch later this summer. Europe still currently has no stores or plans to get them, although we’re hoping the 75 upcoming ones includes European countries.

Microsoft isn’t just pushing the Surface towards success, it’s pushing its SmartGlass service, Xbox gaming platform, Windows 8 OS and Windows Phone 8 platform simultaneously. However, the selling point of the company does lie in the Surface tablet. The Surface oozes functionality and productivity, making the tablet something you can actually do work on – regardless of what your profession may be – which fundamentally sets it apart from any tablet on the market. This is a solid feature-filled device with a lot of marketing behind it and I genuinely feel the only way to improve the marketing at this point is for Microsoft to focus on opening retail outlets – which over the course of two years is exactly what they are doing – but what happens after that?

What else does Microsoft need to do to ensure supremacy over Apple. How does the Surface need to be marketed? Let us know your opinions in the comments section below.

The tablet accessory business is huge, especially after the introduction of the iPad and Android tablets. There’s never a day when I don’t see a press release for some new case or iPad holder. It gets to the point where as a consumer, you don’t even know where to begin because there’s just too much to choose from. Then you have products like the G-Form Extreme Sleeve 2 that are a head above the rest in quality and value.

The G-Form Extreme Sleeve 2 is a sleeve that will fit your iPad 1 or 2, even if it already has a thin shell on it. It uses G-Form’s patented RPT™ – Reactive Protection Technology which is a composite blend of Poron® XRD™ material and proprietary G-Form materials. The design of the unit is broken down into 9 separate sections. When there’s an impact on the material, it will change it’s molecular structure by stiffening and absorbing the impact.

The Extreme Sleeve 2 comes in black or yellow. It looks like something that you might see on a NASA space shuttle. It feels really good to hold too. It’s soft and flexible and again, will hold an iPad that already has a case on it. It has a zipper to secure your tablet and is also water proof. So if you need to carry your iPad in the rain, this is perfect.

The Extreme Sleeve 2 is a proven technology that works. If you want to keep that expensive tablet investment safe, this is the case to buy. It retails for $69.95 and can be purchased directly from the site at g-form.com.

CNET earlier posted a video made by Chinese tech blog, M.I.C. Gadget, containing the shell of the upcoming iPad 3. At first it may look to be a hoax until you see the size of the camera hole and the comparison pics. This looks to be the real deal folks and earlier speculation about the size is true. It has a wider bevel and is a tad thicker than the iPad 2. It’s also important to note that several iPad 3 cases are on sale from various Chinese websites. This new iPad 3 will be announced this week on Wednesday March 7, at an Apple event in San Francisco.

We’ve seen the iPhone 4S, we’ve talked about Wall Street being unimpressed with the announcement, now it’s time to look at the software and services, iOS 5, iCloud and iTunes Match in particular. While Apple claims 200 “huge” new features are available with the iOS 5 upgrade (which is free), we have neither the time, space nor patience to go through each one of them. Instead let’s discuss the main enhancements, additions and features users will experience when they get there hands on iOS 5.

Notifications and iMessage

If there is one gripe iOS device owners would agree is severely lacking when compared to the opposition (Android/Windows Phone), notifications would definitely rank near or at the top. In retrospect even RIM’s Blackberries running OS 6 and the all but dead HP Palm Pre’s have a better notification system when compared to that of any iOS device. iOS 5 addresses that in a big way with notification center, which combines all notifications, sorted by apps, in one central place. Swiping down from the top of the screen will reveal all notification and have them listed and grouped by app. Notifications can now be seen on the lock screen and you now have to ability to control which apps notifications will appear in the notification center.

iMessage is the new iOS-based messaging service similar to the popular service available on blackberries (BBM). iMessage allows you to send text messages, photos, videos and contacts between fellow iOS users, regardless of device. iMessage supports group messaging and is cross-device compatible, meaning all messages on one idevice are mirrored on your others, and vice-versa. You can literally start a conversation on one device and finish it on another.

Newstand

Think of Newstand as a centralized location for all digital subscriptions. The covers of newspapers and magazines will update to mirror the most current issue available for download. A new store link is available which will direct you specifically to the section of the App Store dedicated to subscription-based media.

Reminders

Reminders allow you to create simple lists of things you need to be uh, reminded of. Reminders can be assigned to dates in the calendar or even to a specific location. Reminders will sync across all your iOS devices via iCloud if chose to do so. Third party to-do apps have been put on notice.

Twitter Integration

A single sign-in menu located in the settings app gives you the ability to configure Twitter with all compatible apps such as Camera, Safari and Maps. With Twitter being integrated into many of iOS 5’s built-in apps you can now quickly send photos, videos, pages and map information to all your Twitter contacts. Twitter third party apps also seem to have been put on notice by Apple with this integration.

New Camera and photo editing

One of the most impressive upgrades to the iPhone 4S is the addition of a new 8 megapixel camera. Apple also will make using this new camera a lot easier than before with the addition of a camera button on the lock screen and the volume up button doubling as an optional shutter control. Also available are several new photo editing tools, providing you the ability to crop, rotate, and remove red-eye without an additional app. Other new features include the ability to pinch-to-zoom, use single-tap focus, exposure locks and the ability to bring up a grid overlay.

Safari with Reader feature

Safari finally gets actual tabs on the iPad and a Reading List\View, which lets you save articles to view later and removes everything but the content for a clean look (think Instapaper).

PC Free and Wi-Fi Sync

iDevice users, welcome to the untethered world. With iOS 5 you can setup and manage your device completely PC free with no need to connect to iTunes. With Wi-Fi Sync and iTunes Match, again there’s no need to open up iTunes, all your music can be sync’d through the cloud. Another big change is that software updates are now available over-the-air (OTA), and are now delta updates, only requiring downloading the specific changes made. With the delta updates no longer will you be left with massive downloads for small changes.

Siri – The Voice activated assistant

Siri is a voice activated tool that allows you to control and perform many functions on your iPhone 4S. Apple spent north of $200 million when it acquired Siri last year and were proud to show what an investment it turned out to be. To activate Siri you must perform a long-press on the home button and then just say whatever command you wish Siri to perform. Commands demonstrated included getting the weather, directions on maps, recommendations for restaurants, sending texts, checking local traffic reports, set timers, look up contacts, create notes, search the web, search Wikipedia and more. Words don’t truly describe just how awesome Siri seems to be, watch the official Siri demo on the iPhone 4S to truly get a sense for what Siri is offering.

Game Center updated

New to Game Center in iOS 5 are achievement points, photo sharing and friend\game recommendations. Game downloads can now be made directly from Game Center and turn-based games can be played directly from with-in the OS. It’s almost like Xbox Live for iOS, somewhat…

AirPlay Mirroring

Specifically for the iPad 2 and iPhone 4S, AirPlay mirroring lets you broadcast or mirror your iPad or iPhone, including home screens and all apps, live to your TV via an Apple TV.

iCloud

iCloud which plays a huge roll in iOS 5 replaces MobileMe but provides just about the same abilities, free automatic syncing of email, contacts, calendars, music, videos and more for all iOS 5 and Mac OS X Lion users. iCloud will also be the backbone for iTunes Match, Apple’s cloud music service. Apple’s iCloud will support up to 10 devices for free and 5GB of free storage an additional 10GB will cost you $20 per year, 20GB will cost $40 per year, and 50GB will be $100.

iTunes Match

iTunes match (using iCloud) keeps a copy of your entire iTunes library (up to 25,000 tracks) in the cloud to be accessible from any registered device.

iOS 5 and iCloud will be available for existing iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad, iPad 2, and 3rd and 4th-gen iPod touch users on October 12. iTunes Match with launch at the end of the month in the US with Apple working to release it internationally in the future.

There are other minor updates included with iOS 5 including additional gesture commands (4 and 5 finger swiping), HTML-formatted composition in Mail as well as message flagging and mailbox folder management. But as noted the features listed above are the creme de la creme so to say.

-Have you ever wanted to simply stream your HD video content without paying for it?

-Are you currently paying for a set virtual storage limit every month that’s streaming your video content to your IOS device?

-Do you normally leave your computer running 24-7 because your a nerd like myself who wears Gunnar glasses to read for extended periods of time?

If you answer yes to any of those you may want to go to download Air Video from your IOS device. On of my biggest peeves with these digital locker services are the restrictions some have and of course the monetary aspect. In my search for finding a complete solution for audio/video streaming i could find none that met my needs in a manner that satisfied my needs, until I discovered inmethod.com.

Select HD Resolutions

<![endif]-->

Settling for two separate services that can distribute my media content was the end result of my quest for cloud streaming supremacy. So you may ask, what makes Air Video so great? The question clearly deserves some thought since theres more then a dozen services claiming to be the “best of the best” with honors. Let me briefly explain Air Videos perks below.

Pros-

Free

No Storage Limits ( HDD & SSD limitations based on PC)

No File Limitations ( Apple HTTP Adaptive streaming for Live Conversion )

No uploading of content

No downloading of content

Cons-

Must have PC on ( HDD or SSD must be in active state to be accessed from network)

Make sure you have a UNL data plan for 3G/4G users because streaming HD video is a data hog

Any questions are welcome!
