As we usher in and welcome all that 2012 has to offer we must first look back at days past. 2011 held many a great stories worth remembering and rather then rank them or grade them I figure it’s far more productive and forthright to just list them. So without further ado here’s the Bitbag’s top tech stories of 2011.

Apple announced the new iPhone 4S available from either AT&T, Verizon or now Sprint, priced at $199 for the 16 GB version, $299 for 32 GB and $399 for 64 GB. For more on the details on the announcement check out our iPhone 4S post. Alongside the iPhone 4S announcement Apple is set to sell an 8 GB iPhone 4 for $99 and offer an 8 GB 3GS for free, both with a two-year wireless contract. Apple also unveiled updated versions of the ever popular iPod Nano and Touch mp3 players.

The curtain was lifted and Apple unveiled what has been months upon months of rumors and secrecy, the iPhone 4S. Yes, not the rumored iPhone 5 but the iPhone 4S. I suppose that card is saved and to be played yet another day. The iPhone 4S will be available on the usual AT&T and Verizon networks as well as Sprint on October 14th with pre-orders starting on the 7th.

HTC Status is the first phone device featuring the Facebook share button, and HTC announced that it will be coming to AT&T, exclusively throughout the summer.

Sony Ericsson in my opinion has really dropped ball with the Sony Xperia X10 software wise. The relevance of the phone always comes into question due to it seemingly running a outdated [...]
