Gamers with consoles are finally going to get Stardew Valley. After an initial announcement, fans have wondered when the farming simulator would come to their console. They have to wonder no more, as these versions of the game will come by the end of the year. In fact, console owners should be able to pre-order the game soon.
While this is great news for PS4 and Xbox One owners, that isn’t the case for Nintendo fans. On the game’s official website, it was stated that the Wii U version has been canceled. However, the game is coming to the Nintendo Switch, though no release date has been announced. It just seems like more proof that the Wii U is sort of a failure.
Console Release Dates
Here are the release dates for the console versions of Stardew Valley. Nintendo Switch fans will likely get the game next year.
- The PS4 version of the game will come to North America on December 13, 2016.
- European fans will get the PS4 version the following day on December 14, 2016.
- Microsoft users will get the Xbox One version of the game on December 14, 2016 as well.
Pre-orders for the game will start on November 30. However, only Xbox One owners and European PS4 players can pre-order the game. No bonuses have been listed yet, so there might not be any.
Up To Date?
It will be interesting to see if the console versions of Stardew Valley have all of the PC updates. While a few new features have been added, nothing major has been included yet. Multiplayer will be coming to the PC version soon, so console owners will likely get it sometime after.
PS4 and Xbox owners might not mind the lack of multiplayer. Harvest Moon was a favorite to many on the PS2 era, which is why they will get this game. Considering that Harvest Moon has been a Nintendo title for the longest time, it will be interesting to see if a future game will compete with this one.
Stardew Valley is available now on PC via Steam and is one of its bestselling games. Console versions will come out later this year.
