As part of World AIDS Day and to raise HIV awareness, Prince Harry took an HIV test himself. Alongside with him was singer Rihanna. As a result, there are speculations that the British royalty is positive of the disease. How true is that?
Prince Harry and the pop star were both present Thursday in Barbados National HIV/AIDS Commission?s ?Man Aware? event. Both icons were in the region for the 50th anniversary celebration of independence. The two took a quick HIV test to emphasize the importance of testing.
However, some people interpreted this good cause of Rihanna and the British royalty negatively. According to rumors, the two are really HIV positives, and they just used the event to cover their disease. On a good note, both of their results came back positive, denying all negative speculations.
?It?s amazing how quick it is,? said the Prince about how fast the test is being done. He then followed it with, ?It?s better that everyone goes and gets tested. Why wouldn?t you? Whether you?re a man, woman, gay, straight, black, white, whatever, even ginger, why wouldn?t you come and have a test??
This move of the British royalty is all part of his latest patronage campaign of HIV/AIDS awareness. Kensington Palace already announced it in June on their official website. And, the Prince is just committing to his campaign.
Meanwhile, another highlight of the event is Prince Harry meeting Rihanna. The two met twice during the event – one in Bridgetown, Barbados and another at a benefit concert, where the two sat next to each other.
Although it was a simple meet-and-greet between the two, it is pretty clear that they have enjoyed each other?s company. Time reported that during the concert, the Prince and RiRi smiled frequently as they watch together.
To clarify things once more, Prince Harry is not HIV positive. Neither is Rihanna. They just took the test to raise awareness for everyone. Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
