It’s been quite a while since we’ve had something big happen in Niantic’s augmented-reality title, Pokemon GO. However, it seems like things are about to change in the following days as Niantic recently announced big things headed to the game. Here are the changes coming in the Pokemon GO update this week.
Gen 2 Coming!
It has been a couple of months since Niantic last updated Pokemon GO with new creatures. It was last December when players managed to see new Pokemon. Within this week, the rest of gen 2 will begin appearing. A total of 80 more Pokemon from the Kanto region will now appear. This is the biggest change in the game so far as players will have to devise new strategies with the new Pokemon.
The 80 new Pokemon includes a handful of interesting new creatures. Aside from the starters; Cyndaquil, Chikorita and Totodile, gen 2 holds a lot of other neat Pokemon. Gen 2 will have the evolution of some gen 1 Pokemon including Slowpoke, Goldbat, Onix, new Eveelutions andmany more. These Pokemon will be joined by other new faces like Houndoom, Heracross, Tyranitar and the mysterious Unowns.
Aside from the onslaught of new Pokemon coming in the Pokemon GO update, players will also have access to a few new features in the game. For starters, there will be some new Evolution items at PokeStops that players should be on the lookout for. These will help some gen 1 Pokemon evolve.
Another new unique feature are how some Pokemon will react once encountered. “When you encounter Pokémon in the wild, don’t be surprised if they react in new ways as you’re trying to catch them,” says Niantic.
Moreover, Niantic is looking to add new Berries and more Avatar customization items in the Pokemon GO update. With this news, we can expect a lot of new things in the game and players will definitely begin flocking the game’s servers once again. This means more players will be joining the fray once again.
No PVP And Trading Yet
Niantic CEO John Hanke recently teased that PVP and trading are coming to the game. However, the 2 much awaited features won’t be part of the upcoming Pokemon GO update so we’ll have to wait for it to come some other time. Hopefully, we shouldn’t have to wait long as Hanke himself said it is coming soon.
