Pokemon GO Chinese New Year Event

Pokemon GO fans have been enjoying the many special events that Niantic Labs has arranged over the past months. Many are still waiting patiently though for any sign of the three legendary birds in the game. Unfortunately, they have not yet been added to Pokemon GO yet. While Niantic Labs has not revealed when they plan to do it, sources have revealed that the Pokemon GO legendary update could be coming by the Chinese New Year.

Articuno, Moltres and Zapdos are three of the most popular Pokemon in the entire series. Unfortunately, these three have not yet made an appearance in Pokemon GO. Many are expecting Niantic Labs to release the legendary bird Pokemon during a special event. If the early rumblings are true, that event could possibly be during Chinese New Year.

Pokemon GO Legendary Pokemon Update

According to a report from Slash Gear, their sources suggest that the next Pokemon GO update could include appearances from the legendary Pokemon. The report cites that one possible reason for this is that Niantic Labs could be looking to make a big splash. This comes after Pokemon GO was blocked in China earlier this week.

Currently, Niantic Labs is working with China’s State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television to help get Pokemon GO get back online. Once they do so, they may be planning to have an event to get Chinese gamers interested in Pokemon GO.

The timing of the rumored legendary Pokemon update in the game could not have been more perfect. The Chinese New Year this 2017 is represented by the Fire Rooster. This certainly bears a close resemblance with the fire bird Moltres.

There is still no confirmation though that Niantic Labs is indeed going to introduce Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres later this month. Surely though the game’s developers will be looking for ways to wind back the Chinese Pokemon GO fans.
