Overwatch Update: Huge Sombra Buff Improves Hacking Ability, New Changes For Roadhog And Ana

Overwatch Update

Recently, Blizzard Entertainment revealed the incoming Public Test Realm patches. Fans are excited to try out Sombra in the PTR as her Hack cooldown got reduced. Meanwhile, current meta staples Roadhog and Ana are going to get some more changes in the incoming patch. Here’s what we know so far about the upcoming Overwatch update.

Faster Hacking

According to Geoff Goodman’s post on the official Overwatch forums, Sombra’s Hack cooldown has been reduced from 12 seconds to 8 seconds. Overwatch players on Reddit think that this buff will further result in a faster playstyle for the hacker. Previously, players had to play carefully or wait for its cooldown after hacking an enemy or a health kit. Sombra’s supportive ability only had its long cooldown which held many players back from playing aggressively. Potentially, Sombra players may now have more confidence in playing offensively, but only if they plan on sabotaging enemy defenses through applied disadvantages rather than kills.

Roadhog Changes

At best, Roadhog is being bombarded with changes on his Hook ability right now due to its broken strength in the game. The next Overwatch update adds more fixes and nerfs which make his hooks more consistent. To compensate for the nerfs, Roadhog’s hook now massively applies a slow debuff on hit to prevent enemies from sliding or sidejumping away to break his hook. Players aiming to hook should now be careful and precise if they want to snag an enemy for a quick kill.

Ana Changes

In the upcoming Overwatch update, Ana’s Biotic Grenade’s increased healing buff duration has been lowered from 5 to 4 seconds. Previously, Ana’s Biotic Grenade buff has also been nerfed to reduce the amplified healing. Before the nerfs, Ana’s Biotic Grenade extremely helped “Triple Tank” teams to sustain their tanks with two healers and just muscle their way to the objective. The increased healing buff added with two healers allows Tanks to soak damage and fight off their enemies better.

For now, we’ll have to wait and see if the Sombra buff actually gives her a strong impact in games. While denying your enemy team to health packs seems promising, her damage and debuff only ultimate make her difficult to fit in team compositions.
