Mortal Kombat has been in the gaming industry for quite some time now and the franchise is no stranger to the EVO (Evolution Championship Series) world. Next year is no exception as well. Mortal Kombat X will officially be included at EVO under NetherRealm Studios. But there are still no news or update on possible new additions to Mortal Kombat X Pack 3. Will we see it at the event?
According to a Reddit post from Fatal1ty_93_RUS, there is a bit of a worry when dealing with the Mortal Kombat X Pack 3. First is the support that the NeatherRealm will be giving this franchise. Since Ed Boon has been focusing more on Injustice 2, the danger of the Mortal Kombat X Pack 3 not having any new components or content is a possible consequence. This already happened to Mortal Kombat 9 and the first Injustice.
Second is the line up of EVO. There will be a total of nine games in the said lineup. The first five games that already have a guaranteed spot are Street Fighter V, Smash Bros Melee, Smash Wii, Tekken 7, The King of Fighters XIV, Guilty Gear Xrd-Revelator and Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3. This leaves only two slots left, and one will obviously go to Injustice 2. This leaves a fine line for Mortal Kombat X to be added.
This leads to the last point of the post which is the entry numbers of the game. The last spot is practically a free for all option to any game that wants to participate in this year’s EVO. Sadly, the Mortal Kombat X game stats has been slowly slipping down which can possibly result in a major downward drop by 2017 if the game continues to be unnoticed by NeatherRealm. Add to the fact that Injustice 2 is a game also developed by NeatherRealms, it’s likely the studio will give less attention to Mortal Kombat X.
Let’s just hope that NeatherRealm can give Mortal Kombat X Pack 3 the attention it deserves and gives the game its rightful glory back.
