Marvel vs Capcom 4 Release Date In 2017, Gameplay Reveal At PlayStation Experience 2016 [Report]

Marvel vs Capcom 4

Recently, a major news site confirmed through anonymous sources the Marvel vs Capcom 4’s release window. Capcom’s Yoshinori Ono also teased that the Akuma reveal is not a Street Fighter 5 announcement in the upcoming PlayStation Experience. Will Marvel vs Capcom 4 really be released this coming 2017?

Multiple Anonymous Sources

According to Polygon, they have some info from anonymous sources which confirm that Marvel vs Capcom 4 will be released in 2017. A Capcom spokesperson refused to explain the situation as the “company doesn’t comment on rumors or speculation,” according to Polygon. Currently, there’s a huge possibility for the game’s release. All that’s needed is an official confirmation of the rumors.

More Marvel Cinematic Universe?

Polygon also noted that Marvel vs Capcom 4 will have more characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This means characters from Guardians of the Galaxy, The Avengers, Doctor Strange and Spider-Man would be introduced in the game. Previously, Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom’s Rocket Raccoon was released before his appearance in the Guardians of the Galaxy movie. Marvel may use this opportunity to introduce more Marvel characters to the mainstream instead of just introducing them through a movie. However, X-men characters like Wolverine and Magneto are less likely to appear due to ownership issues.

PlayStation Experience 2016 Reveal?

Previously, Capcom announced an “Akuma reveal” for the PlayStation Experience after a Street Fighter 5 tournament. However, Ono clarified that they didn’t confirm if their “Akuma reveal” is for Street Fighter 5. Potentially, Marvel vs Capcom 4 could be revealed this coming PlayStation Experience 2016.

Meanwhile, the Capcom Cup 2016 will also be concluded in the Sony event. Fans may have to wait for the Capcom Cup final match to be finished before they can find out more about the “Akuma reveal.” We’ll see if Ono was just teasing the fans or if the Capcom crossover game will really be revealed. For now, we can only wait until the weekend to know what Capcom’s planning to do with this Marvel vs Capcom 4 hype circling about.
