LG is reportedly working on a successor of LG G5. The all new LG G6 is expected to bring some new features like LG Pay with a high-end hardware.
The upcoming LG G6 could have the world’s first camera and Iris scanner module. The company demonstrated the all-in-one module at the Korea Electronics Show (KES). Although Samsung has already featured an Iris, it would be the first one of its kind.
The second good thing expected in LG G6 is LG Pay, Apple and Samsung already have their own digital wallet services. LG is developing LG Pay already and will most probably launch this service with its upcoming smartphone, reported TechTimes.
The device would be powered by Qualcomm’s unannounced Snapdragon 830 processor coupled with 6GB RAM. LG is working on Android Nougat update for its handsets, the forthcoming handset will most probably run with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
The company is expected to have a 5.3-inch OLED display with QHD display. Some reports claim that the handset would have a curved display. LG G5 comes with a 16MP and 8MP dual-camera setup on the back and an 8MP selfie shooter. If reports are believed to be true, the next-gen could have a 24MP dual-camera and 8MP dual camera for the brightest selfies.
Instead of a non-removeable battery, TechTimes claims that G6 would have a removeable battery. Moreover, the modular concept has not worked for LG. It is highly likely the upcoming handset will not feature a modular design.
LG is expected to launch G6 in the beginning of 2017. If rumors are believed to be true, the company could release it during the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2017). However, nothing is confirmed until LG releases any official statement regarding the forthcoming handset. Readers are advised to take that information with a grain for salt for now.
