Riot Games Product Product Manager Reav3 recently confirmed that 10 champions are lined up to receive visual and gameplay updates soon. The confirmed champions for a rework are Amumu, Cho?Gath, Dr. Mundo, Fiddlesticks, Kayle, Morgana, Nocturne, Tryndamere, and Teemo. However, the Warwick and Galio reworks may come first as they were confirmed earlier. Here?s what we know so far about the champion reworks in a future League of Legends update.
Ten Champion Reworks
According to Reav3?s post on the official forums, 10 champions are confirmed to receive a rework in a League of Legends update. ?Amumu, Cho, Mundo, fiddle, Kayle/Morg, Nocturne, Tryndamere, and Teemo? are confirmed to receive some visual and gameplay reworks. The champions mentioned tend to have extremely situational strengths in matches which may make the rework called for. However, fans may have to wait throughout the whole 2017 for all of these reworks to be implemented.
Galio and Warwick first
According to an official League of Legends post, Galio is slated to receive a Visual and Gameplay update after Yorick?s rework. Riot Games plans to make Galio into a midlane tank/mage champion which means he could be a strong control mage similar to Swain. Galio has rarely seen any regular use in both competitive and casual matches, so this might help him appear more.
Previously, Riot Games confirmed a rework for Ryze, Yorick and Warwick. Ryze and Yorick have already received their reworks, so Warwick could be next. Warwick?s kit allows him to chase dying targets, heavily disable one champion, and last longer through life steals. However, his skill kit is too straightforward and easy to counter which leaves Warwick players with few tools to cope with disadvantage. These characters may receive the reworks first before any of Reav3?s mentioned champions in a future League of Legends update.
At best, Riot Games does visual and gameplay reworks to make a champion relevant again. Updates in the game?s stats sometimes reward a certain playstyle too much. Some champions never shine through these changes and stay unpicked because their skill kits don?t work well with the new updates. To fix that, some champions have their abilities, appearance, and even lore changed to bring a new champion to the game. However, some fans aren?t always happy as their main champion may essentially get replaced with a similar yet extremely different skill kit. For now, we?ll have to wait on Riot?s move on how they will rework these 10 new champions in the game.
