For those unable to use Netflix on their custom firmware v3.55, due to the requirement of firmware v3.56, our forum member Shadow_2011 has posted a short tutorial that you can use to get back to streaming movies and TV shows on your PS3.
Shadow_2011 says:
Since Netflix has been updated to v2.02, it is now asking for firmware v3.56 before you can start streaming again. But if you change the App number from v2.01 to v2.02 in Netflix’s PARAM.SFO file, you can start streaming again on your custom firmware v3.55.
Required tools & file:
- FTP client on PC (recommend [u]FileZilla)
- FTP server on PS3 (recommend Blackb0x’s FTP server)
- PARAM SFO Editor (recommend Hellcat’s SFO edit)
- Netflix’s PARAM.SFO file from dev/hdd0/game/npup00030 (this is Netflix’s installed location on the PS3′s hard drive)
