Codename as ExEn, the open source tool allows developers to port XNA games to iOS, Silverlight and in Russell is also working on Android and OS X platform as well. In what we called a unique process, this software will make it easier for developers to take games they have created for Windows, Xbox 360, or Windows Phone 7 using Microsoft’s XNA framework and port them to the iPhone or iPad, the Web (Silverlight), and soon to Android devices and Mac OS Xl.

Andrew’s project is socially funded and a public preview (ExEn Public Preview 1) for developers who chip in the donations was just been previewed on Wednesday. You can learn more about the project here.

Ubisoft CEO, Yves Guillemot told GamesIndustry.biz that Microsoft and Sony will be getting the much needed “pressure” after the recent price cuts from Nintendo for the Wii consoles, and that similar strategies would help push the console gaming market that is currently shooting their way down.

“This year they will continue to drop the price,” he added of both Sony and Microsoft.

Same-Sex Romance Options Available In Mass Effect 3

by Dukio - on May 17th 2011 - No Comments

I’m not sure if this news will tickle your gentleman sausage but the Mass Effect series executive producer, Casey Hudson has confirmed the following in game options in his recent tweet.

Happy to confirm #ME3 supports wider options for love interests incl. same-sex for m&f chars, reactive to how you interact w/them in-game.

In addition to that, he has squashed the rumors that previously “straight” characters are now available for both male and female options.

Some game sites saying “previously straight chars now available for both m&f chars” not necessarily true. Will have some new LI’s in #ME3

Previously, Hudson has said that there will be no new love interest for our Captain Shepherd other than the ones in ME 1 and 2. Don’t be mistaken with it though, the new installment of course, has other characters for other part of the RPG based action game. You can read further explanation from Hudson below courtesy of his interview with PC Gamer:

In this one, we don’t really have new characters that are part of the romance stuff in the way that we did in Mass Effect 2, where we introduced a lot of characters…But we also have some interesting things happening, where you’ve got Ashley and Kaiden from the first game, you’ve got Liara, and there’s sort of a love triangle there. And then we gave people a bunch of new characters. People said “Well, I just want my Mass Effect 1 characters, and I’m not interested in any of these characters.” But then a lot of people had romances with those characters, and now the fun is bringing back some of those characters from Mass Effect 1 and putting them back in the mix, and looking at what you did in Mass Effect 2 and bringing some… interesting scenarios around those things.

Mass Effect 3 is scheduled for a release next year and will mark the third and final trilogy of the successful Mass Effect video games series.
