by Dukio - on Jun 22nd 2011 - No Comments

Yesterday, there was an active discussion with speculations surrounding on the iPhone 5 release date. The news first reported by BGR that the iPhone 5 might be hitting the shelves in August, earlier than the expected release of iOS 5. Now, Bloomberg has another date to report to, where their source has pointing towards September release date for the anticipated iPhone 5.

iPhone 5 Release Date, August or September?

There is no clear indications of which reports to rely on as both are credible sources in terms of giving the news on the next iPhone. But, given there are just few months away before everything will be uncovered, it is best to wait for the official words from Apple about the release date of iPhone 5. We can look forward to between at the end of August or the start of September where Apple usually give their talk on that timeline.

The Roundup To iPhone 5 Rumor mill

by Dukio - on May 24th 2011 - 2 Comments

In the recent weeks, we certainly heard a lot of the next generation model of iPhone 5 or 4S, for those who concerned. Now, when we’re talking about iPhone, there a huge numbers of interested parties who want to look at getting the latest scoop on the device, that’s why you can see analysts making their research on this kind of industry.

Alright, let’s get to the first interesting rumor we get.

iPhone 5 or iPhone 4S?

Referring to what a research note from Jefferies & Co. analyst, Peter Mise says, the next revolutionary (full of sarcasm) phone from Apple could be called as iPhone 4S instead of iPhone 5. The S probably stands for steroids Speed because they wouldn’t want a Slower new iPhone than the older version ain’t they? No LTE (Long-Term Evolution, or we could just say 4G connectivity), no NFC (Near Field Communications), much better cameras, a faster processor (dual core maybe?) and HSPA+ (a faster 3G) support are on the list to the release of iPhone 5, 4S.

Introducing Curved-glass iPhone 5

Yenting Chen from DIGITIMES reports that Apple will feature a curved cover glass for their next on the line iPhone model. Not sure how it will look, but it does have the word “Sexy” all over it.

There has been a fair amount of buzz on the iPhone 5, and the latest being circulated around the supply chain in Taiwan is that Apple is going to adopt a curved cover glass for its next generation model, according to industry sources.

Cover glass makers are reluctant to commit investment to the purchase of glass cutting equipment due to the high capital involved, said the sources.

However, in order to push forward the production of curved glass, Apple reportedly has purchased 200-300 glass cutting machines to be used by glass makers, said the sources.

The glass slicing machines are currently being stored at associated assembly plants and will be brought online once yield rates for the production of curved glass reaches a satisfactory level, the sources revealed.

There has been no timetable yet for the volume production of iPhone 5 as Apple is currently still working with related suppliers including those involved in cover glass, glass cutting, lamination and touch sensors to improve yield rates, the sources commented.

To add on the whole roundup, here are the list in the iPhone 5 spotlight.

  • Apple’s new smartphone will be presented in September, pointing the direction during Apple’s annual iPod event.
  • The iPhone 5 will have a flat metal back, instead of the glass on the older iPhone.
  • Major sources agreed with expected changes include the speedier A5 processor currently powering the iPad 2, as well as an 8-megapixel camera sensor provided by Sony.
  • The iPhone 5 will sets it’s eye on T-Mobile and Sprint, some analysts nod on this one.

Also, here is list of iPhone 5 pictures, supposedly to be close to the real one. There are not great pics but it certainly worth a peek, after all it’s a rumored iPhone 5 pictures.

On an unrelated note but with the sense of iPhone, there have been some discussion over a bigger storage iPhone 4, yeah more than 32GB, an iPhone 4 64GB.

Next iPhone Should Be Called iPhone 4S, Analyst Claims

by Dukio - on May 17th 2011 - No Comments

In a research note, Peter Misek has revealed that the next generation iPhone should be called the iPhone 4S. The analyst from Jefferies & Co. has further stated that;

According to our industry checks, the device should be called iPhone 4S and include minor cosmetic changes, better cameras, A5 dual-core processor, and HSPA+ support,

If the report is deemed correct, Apple will start it’s revolutionary changes to it’s core product by first, releasing it on a new later date rather than the usual June releases and then, the first change in their product’s name revision, the iPhone 4S. Previously we have seen, iPhone 2G and 3G on their ever unique lineup. The hardware upgrade, on the other hand, is going to be powered with A5 dual-core processor, the same one that has been used for iPad 2.

Other analyst have offered similar predictions to what Peter Misek’s have been saying his research note.
