The latest version of the port of the Hermes Manager, Iris Manager, is here. The latest version is now running at v1.2. This latest version comes with support with EBOOT activated, new option to mark BDVD required games, minor form and color changes, and more. The best thing about this new update is that it now comes with the PKG file for Geohot/Wutangrza CFW, courtesy of Drizztz.

A few days ago we reported of Iris Manager, a port of the Hermes Manager. D_Skywalk has reported that he has updated the Iris Manager to v1.1. This newest update had added support for more big files, game installation on USB, added a “no music” option, new interface, and more. For those of you who have not heard about Iris Manager, Hermes has left the scene not too long ago and D_Skywalk has taken over the project, which is not called Iris Manager. Iris Manager still has a lot of the features that Hermes Manager has, for those of you who enjoy using the Hermes Manager.

A few weeks ago it was reported that Hermes released the last version of his famous Hermes Manager and was leaving the PS3 scene. Today there is some great news. D_Skywalk has decided to continue working with all the information he has gathered about the Hermes Manager. His manager, called the Iris Manager, is a port of the Hermes Manager based on PSL1GHT, Tiny3D, PS3Soundlib, and OpenPS3FTP. This is a completely legal open code manager made with homebrew tools. D_skywalk has developed a new payload with hermes-syscall8 and hermes-bigfiles support.

Features of the Iris Manager:

- Support to run games with bigfiles from external USB devices (caching the big file from the internal HDD) – Icon Red.
- New syscall8 and new developed hook with an open_table algorithm on 3.55
- Support for Black Screen games (BDEmu).

There is some good news followed with some sad news. Today, Hermes has released his Hermes Manager v1.5 for FW 3.41. Unfortunately, Hermes is leaving the PS3 scene. He does not really give a definite answer to why he is leaving the scene. Using google translator, he posted that he is just tired. The pitcher is overflowing and he feels that it is his time to go. Again this is his latest and probably final update to his Hermes Manager for FW 3.41. Thanks to D_Skywalk, from Elotrolado.net, who has ported the Hermes Manager to FW 3.55. Hermes Manager was originally working on FW 3.41. This version of Hermes Manager for FW 3.55 has two PKGs (regular and stealth). It also requires the use of LV2 patcher v9 in order to activate syscall36, as this doesn’t use Hermes payload. The stealth version uses Lemmings ID (NPUA80034) while the regular version still uses the same ID as the 3.41 version.

Hermes has released HManager v1.0. This is a Hermes v4 PS3 Backup Manager that is based on PSL1GHT, Tiny3D, PS3Soundlib, and OpenPS3FTP. This is intended for the base psgroove-hermesv4 and in particular for CFW 3.41 (is compatible with old dongle, but in this case some features will not be active). “This program should be used for the legitimate use of backup and author disclaimed any missuse that could do third persons and only recognizes the uses that allows the Spanish legislation in the private sphere.”

Features of HManager:

•Allows loading games from internal and external HDD, bluray, like Open Manager: copy, test and delete games available
•Includes psgroove-hermesv4D payload, with signed self.
•It is presented with a graphical interface which represent 4 x 3 icons on the screen.
•It allows adjusting the screen, change the games directory and change background color.
•Minimizes the use of buttons and the possibility of a mistake by pressing the wrong buttons (especially designed for children)
•Includes FTP support (OpenPS3FTP), the possibility of syscalls blocking (through internal key: it is recommended to compile the program changing “hmanager_key” by another) and the possibility of releasing PS3LoadX directly.
•Possibility of replacing EBOOT.BIN in new games by other external BIN
•The games settings are saved in a private directory (using the game ID)

There has been a latest update to Hermes CFW 3.41.  The update is to change to the latest payload 4d.  The changelog to this lateset update states that there is an added menu XMG retail with PS3_SYSTEM_VER patch and other stuff related to loading eboot.  The update is basically the payload to version 1.04.

Hermes has done it again.  Today, he has updated his 3.41 CFW’s payload to version 4c.  It was not really clear on what was updated in this version, but at this time we can only assume it is for the better.  It is possible that this updated is designed to fix bugs as well as improve its stability.  Enjoy and leave questions or comments below.

Developer Hermes has finally released his much rumored custom firmware v3.41! You will need to first build the custom firmware using the tools provided in the download below ( or at least until we can get our hands on a copy that’s already been built–which will happen very soon–stay tune). Once build, just install it onto your PS3. This release includes LV1 patch, LV2 peek/poke patch, hermes’ payload v4b, and more. Yes, this custom firmware v3.41 has your PS3 game backup needs in mind, so you’ll be able to play backups on it.
