With the focus on protecting innovative use on personal devices, EFF (Electronic Frontier Foundation) has run a blog post campaign on the PS3 to help legalize the use of Linux.
In the blog post, they illustrate how PS3 owners unable to capitalize the power of their gaming console with Linux after Sony’s mandatory firmware update removed the ability to install “Other OS”.
After that, there has been many attempts been made to bring back the open source operating system back to the PS3.
One respected developer in particular, graf_chokolo, had been sued over hundreds of thousands of dollars for his effort in reviving an option that every PlayStation 3 owners had in the first place.
EFF has uploaded a video especially in the wake of using Linux in PS3. However, no mention of graf_chokolo in either their article and the Youtube video.
