  • PS3 (mine is on FW 3.55 KMEAW, but it will work with any other cfw like Cobra, TB, Rebug)

Stop SOPA & PIPA. Sign the petition!

by Rith - on Jan 17th 2012 - 5 Comments

Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and Protect IP Act (PIPA) bills are not the right way to fight against piracy. Tell Congress you don’t want SOPA and PIPA!

Excerpt from Google:
Millions of Americans oppose SOPA and PIPA because these bills would censor the Internet and slow economic growth in the U.S.

Two bills before Congress, known as the Protect IP Act (PIPA) in the Senate and the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) in the House, would censor the Web and impose harmful regulations on American business. Millions of Internet users and entrepreneurs already oppose SOPA and PIPA.

The Senate will begin voting on January 24th. Please let them know how you feel. Sign this petition urging Congress to vote NO on PIPA and SOPA before it is too late.

Take action by signing the petition, here.

PS Vita firmware v1.52 released (Update: Teck4′s exploit still working)

by Rith - on Jan 17th 2012 - No Comments

A new firmware for the PS Vita handheld system has been released. Now that this firmware is available, if you attempt to transfer files to the PS Vita via Sony’s Content Management Assistant (CMA) app on your computer, you must first update to firmware v1.52. Also, if you have your Wi-Fi enabled on the PS Vita, the system will ask to perform an update. However, if you have Virtuous Flame’s open CMA installed on your computer, you don’t have to worry about updating to this firmware when attempting to transfer files.

And we don’t have confirmation yet as to whether this firmware patches Teck4′s exploit and/or Half-Byte Loader.

Half-Byte Loader successfully ported to and updated for US/EU PS Vita systems

by Rith - on Jan 11th 2012 - 2 Comments

Developer wololo has managed to port Half-Byte Loader (HBL) to US and EU versions of PS Vita systems. According to wololo, this is a port/update as it contains additional tweaks to get additional homebrew apps to work. Since this task is done, the next step for wololo is documentation. And if Sony decides not to patch Teck4′s exploit, after the release of HBL, work on HBL for PS Vita will resume.

Wololo: FAQ for Half-Byte Loader on the PS Vita

by Rith - on Jan 10th 2012 - 1 Comment

Developer wololo has published an FAQ that may help answer questions regarding the Half-Byte Loader running on the PS Vita system. You’ll find answers to ISO (backups), homebrew apps, kernel mode, etc.

The information below is an excerpt from wololo.net.

wololo says:

We’ve seen through Teck4′s exploit that PSP exploits run flawlessly on the PSP emulator of the Vita. I’ve spent the past 3 weeks working on leveraging Teck4′s exploit and port HBL to it. I’ve been receiving lots of questions (probably from people who haven’t used HBL back when it was the only possible way to play homebrews on the PSP Go) and will try to answer them here.
