iOS 10 Jailbreak Release By Pangu In December

iOS 10 Jailbreak december release

Two months have passed since the release of the iOS 10, the jailbreaking community has yet to see any breakthrough for the public release of the iOS 10 Jailbreak tool. A new report has emerged stating that Chinese hacking group Team Pangu could release the iOS 10 jailbreak tool soon in December. However, there is no actual confirmation for such.

Pangu Adding Functionality to iOS 10 Jailbreak

A senior security engineer from the Chinese online firm Alibaba is said to be collaborating for the next jailbreak release. The developer, who goes by his Twitter handle @SparkZheng, stated that an iOS 10 jailbreak will be released soon. Though he didn’t specify the release date. He is even credited to jailbreak iOS 9.3.4 but that version was not open to the public.

The engineer stated that Team Pangu is working on an open source feature designed specifically for Apple’s latest flagship, the iPhone 7.  This would mean an iPhone 7 running on Pangu’s next jailbreak will be open for further modifications. The added functionality is being alleged as the reason for further delays in the iOS 10 jailbreak release.

Still, with Apple expected to release the iOS 10.0.2 update in December, there are concerns that Team Pangu could miss the deadline in developing a new tool. The Chinese hacking group has so far been unable to come up with a credible public tool despite various security breaches in Apple’s mobile operating system. Pangu, however, previously claimed that it has already broken iOS 10 but is holding back in releasing it to the public. The reason it is not releasing a JB tool is to prevent Apple from patching up things before their next big iOS update.

iOS 10 Jailbreak Alternative

In the meantime, jailbreak fans are opting for other jailbreak alternatives. Though most users are now familiar with Mojo, apparently a better alternative has emerged in the form of Tweakbox.

Tweakbox is compatible with almost any iOS version up to the latest 10.0.2, reports Mobilenapps.com. Similar to other alternatives, it allows users to download premium apps for free. Its standout ability is it lets users download things not normally found on iTunes or the App Store. Though it doesn’t necessarily cover everything, almost all essential apps are included such as:

  • GBA4iOS for iOS 10.0.2, 10.1 – Best Gaming Emulator without jailbreak.
  • HipStore for iOS 10.1, 10.0.2 – Best app store to download paid apps.
