This is sure to bring some flames, but two articles released today provide a glimpse at competitive decisions that are being made by each console and their respective developers (check after the break for my thoughts):

Another huge update to the PS3 is upon us. DTS-HD 7.1 audio has now been added and the new PSN Store is revamped. It’s nice to be able to download these updates over the net. I feel bad for the early stand-alone Blu-Ray adopters. Here’s the full release from Sony:

Yeah, HD is the new thing on everyone’s mind. It’s hit the networks, internet, gaming and plastic media like a storm. Too bad you can’t just purchase an HD only package from your cable provider. They want you to have basic and extended and digital before you can add HD to the [...]

It was announced today that the projector division of Panasonic will be sponsoring Tsquared. I practice on it at home before tournaments, use it for casual gaming and it’s great for watching sports with my friends.” [...]

You’ve been keeping up with The Bitbag coverage on the high-definition format wars and the end has finally come. Sorry, HD-DVD fans . . . Toshiba has thrown in the towel. Wal-Mart is truly a powerful force and it seems to have dropped the final straw on the camel’s back by announcing last Friday that [...]

So, I’ve been reading different forums and media, and it’s no surprise that the ongoing high-definition format war is at an all time high. With different studios and companies backing HD-DVD and BD, it can be an overwhelming choice for the consumer to decide which medium to go with for their hi-definition needs.

Microsoft just announced a HUGE lineup for the Xbox Live Video Marketplace. One of the shockers was the inclusion of the James Bond films in HD. As you know, these MGM films are owned by parent company Sony. It’s quite interesting that they are allowing these titles to appear on Xbox Live [...]
