Devil May Cry 5

Recently, Devil May Cry director Hideaki Itsuno tweeted about working hard to announce a new game this 2017. Potentially, this game can be another entry on Itsuno?s directorial work like Devil May Cry 5 or possibly a Dragon?s Dogma entry. Here?s what we know so far about this potential Devil May Cry 5 release.

Itsuno?s Tweet

As part of Itsuno?s New Year greeting, he revealed that he?s working on a project that he looks forward to announcing soon. Previously, he directed Devil May Cry 2, 3 , 4 and Dragon?s Dogma which keeps relevance to this console generation. Even without the series creator Hideki Kamiya, Itsuno might be working on Devil May Cry 5 since he already worked on most of the series? entries including Ninja Theory?s DmC: Devil May Cry.

Capcom?s Plan

According to Capcom?s 2015 fiscal report, the company planned some new entries to be released in 2016-2017. These planned games are:

– ?????????Monster Hunter Cross

– ?????????Street Fighter 5

– ?????????Resident Evil series

– ?????????Monster Hunter series

– ?????????Dead Rising series

– ?????????Devil May Cry series

– ?????????Street Fighter series

– ?????????Other series

So far, Capcom has already announced Resident Evil 7, ?Monster Hunter XX, Dead Rising 4 and possibly the season 2 content for Street Fighter 5. Capcom has also filled the ?Other series? category with Marvel Vs Capcom Infinite along with the promise that they?ll visit their older IPs for their future games. ?Outside of Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition last 2015, nothing was officially revealed about the Devil May Cry series as of 2016.?

Not Devil May Cry 5?

Itsuno?s portfolio also includes some other notable Capcom series that may be revived instead of the Devil May Cry 5. Itsuno also worked on notable Capcom fighting games like Rival Schools, Power Stone and Capcom vs SNK. These titles have some great potential since Capcom is planning to look back on their older series. At best, Devil May Cry 5 still has some competition to be considered before getting prioritized as Capcom?s next game.
