You would think that after more than 800 episodes, 16 seasons and 20 films, fans of Detective Conan will most likely feel burned out. Well, think again. A new Detective Conan movie in the works and it looks like the series has not lost its charm on fans.
In commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the hit series, Gosho Aoyama, the creator of the said series, will be releasing yet another Detective Conan movie masterpiece titled “Detective Conan: Crimson Love Letter” (“Meitantei Conan Kara Kurenai no Love Letter” in Japanese). This will count as the 21st film for this anime franchise.
The film is directed by Kobun Shizuno, who was also the director of the last six Detective Conan films, and will be under TMS and V1 Studio. The script was made once again by Takeharu Sakurai and will also be based on Aoyama’s story.
Plot And Characters
The film is set in Osaka where a love story will unfold. The plot will revolve around Heiji Hattori and Kazuha Toyama. There will also be a new character that will join the film and her name is Momiji Ooka. She refers to Heiji as her future husband and will become a rival for Kazuha.
Alongside the two characters mentioned above, a lot of familiar faces will also be joining the movie. These include Conan Edogawa, Ran Mouri, Kogoro Mori and many more. These characters will once again be given life by the same voice actors that did their anime voices.
The Detective Conan movie debut on April 15, 2017, if all production goes well and on time. Sadly, this film is set to be released only in Japan.
For now, there is still no announcement if the film would debut globally or if there would be an English sub or even a dubbed version. Let us just pray for the possibility that this classic anime would reach all its fans around the world in the near future.
