Cuphead Xbox One And PC Release: What We Know So Far

Cuphead is the Microsoft exclusive title that Sony and Nintendo fans are incredibly jealous of. Fans have had their eyes on this gorgeous indie shooter since its trailer first debuted in 2015. While the game still doesn’t have a definitive release date, it is slated to come out sometime this year.

Anyone who’s seen a classic Looney Toon will fall in love with the art style of the game. Paying homage to animated serials from the 1930’s, this indie title is a must-buy for those with an Xbox One. It’s not just Xbox players of course, as PC players will also gain access to the game, hence Microsoft exclusive.

When Is Cuphead Coming Out?

If the official website is any indication, it will be out by mid-2017, so in a few months or so. That’s a bit far off, but at least it’s not out in late 2017, which would lead to longer waits. While the lack of an actual release date is disappointing, at least there is a release window.

Gameplay-wise, Cuphead is going to be a straight up shooter similar to other side-scrolling titles. Players will be able to control Cuphead or Mugman in single-player or two-player co-op, which sounds great. It doesn’t seem like it will differ from other shooters, but imaginative level design and great visuals could help players ignore that.

Will It Be Good?

Considering how long it’s been delayed, it’s easy to see why some fans might get anxious about the title. Fans don’t want to go through another No Man’s Sky situation, which was delayed a number of times and failed to live up to the hype. While the game doesn’t have as much hype as No Man’s Sky, it’s still a bit worrisome, though fans know that the developers are working hard.

Still, that shouldn’t dampen the excitement gamers have for the upcoming Cuphead. Despite the numerous delays, it does look better than most titles out today, especially Mighty No. 9. It’s still a long ways off, but the shooter looks to be worth the wait, especially for old-school fans that love shooters and old-school cartoons.
