Fans are alarmed that soccer superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo might be dead. The latest news is that Cristiano Ronaldo talk of him being one of the passengers of the plane that had recently crashed near the outskirts of Medellin, Colombia. Is there any truth to it?

Is Cristiano Ronaldo Dead?

Cristiano Ronaldo is not dead. However, he appears to have been killed off on the Internet twice this week. The most recent is merely speculation of him being on board the plane that had recently crashed near Medellin. This speculation has no real backing and odds are the football star is very much alive and well as of this moment. Ronaldo is part of the Spanish team, Real Madrid.

However, news of Ronaldo’s death had become viral earlier this week. It was a bogus death hoax that has since targeted many other celebrities this year.

The hoax made traction on Facebook last Sunday, November 27. A Facebook page named: ‘R.I.P. Cristiano Ronaldo’ has fooled many fans into believing that the famous football star had actually passed away.

The page’s ‘About’ section writes:  “At about 11 a.m. ET on Sunday (November 27, 2016), our beloved footballer Cristiano Ronaldo passed away. Cristiano Ronaldo was born on February 5, 1985 in Funchal. He will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page.”

The Living

The news of his death has forced his representatives to officially point out that he was still alive last Monday, November 28. Cristiano Ronaldo is very much alive, and we can only hope that the plane crash in Medelling would share a similar fate.

Among the 81 passengers was Brazil’s Chapecoense Football Team. The team was onboard the flight to compete for the finals match this coming Wednesday.

However, the finals has since been suspended indefinitely in light of the tragic news of the plane crash. On-site rescue operations are still underway, so details of the aftermath are still in the dark. But hopefully, the results of the crash wont be as grim as it currently seems.
