Review: King Of Fighters 12

King Of Fighters has always been the ‘other’ definitive 2D fighter. SNK gained much acclaim from this series and it proved that they were taking the genre seriously. SNK promised that the 12 entry into the series would take the game into the next generation. Have they delivered what was promised? Read the rest of this entry »
Video Game Warzone #55

On this episode we discuss Valve software and their decision to not make games on the PS3. We also talk about the easy solutions available to gamers who want to play games like L4D2. Gamers should not take what Gabe said personal and realize that all game consoles are just pieces of hardware and not living creatures with emotions.

Sony Takes Off The Gloves, Compares 80gb To Xbox Arcade And Wii Consoles
Sony is just beginning it’s hard push for Q4 2009. To start, they compare the 80gb PS3 to the Xbox Live Arcade and Wii consoles. They go straight up, bit for bit and compare the value of a Playstation 3 in comparison to the competition. It’s an interesting read. Read the rest of this entry »
Fighting In 2009
Over the past couple of weeks I have been discussing the games of 2009 that I’m looking forward to as well as the games that have already made it to market. More specifically the fighting games of 2009. With the release of the limited edition retail version of Marvel vs Capcom 2 hitting Gamestop this week, I thought it might be nice to take a look back at and offer my take on 2009’s fighting games.

EA Announces “Madden Arcade”

In a conference call just minutes ago EA announced that they would be releasing “Madden Arcade” as a downloadable game (presumably on PSN and XBLA) later this year. The game was likened to 3 on 3 NHL Arcade which was released this past February and featured two teams of 3 NHL pros with oversized heads facing off in an arcade-style game to 3 goals, as well as offline and online multiplayer. No other details are available at this point, but it is only a matter of time before we are given more info on this upcoming release.

Video Game Warzone #51:No More Doom And Gloom For Sony

On this episode we talk about the nonsense that happens every month when NPD results drop. It seems that everyone is sitting by their computer waiting to tell the world how Sony is doing terrible, that they need a price drop and why they aren’t selling as much as Xbox 360. It’s old and it surely isn’t journalism. It’s hard to believe how we, as gamers, are so focused on sales this generation. If it’s not sales it’s game resolutions and minor graphic whoring. For the last time, Sony isn’t going anywhere so please stop using NPD for flamebait against them. Also on this show:
* The real reason why games like Bayonetta and Bioshock 2 got pushed back. (Torrence)
* Remember Stephen Totilo’s rant on Microsoft not having any games this year? What does he have to say now? (Torrence)
* Dragon Age sex. (Chad)
* Madden finally surpassing 2K5 (Hiphopgamer)
* Kratos now a DC comics character (Hiphopgamer)
* And much much more…

Sonic Adventure on Live? Maybe.
Sonic and Knuckles is due to arrive within the month or so from Sega on XBOX Live. Yes, I know, I know it’s been awhile but I had to get this off my chest before I forget and someone else predicts Sega’s next move. I won’t be appearing on Warzone for awhile until I get some stuff resolved. Now, it’s come to my attention that Sega has plans to re-release Sonic Adventure for Zeebo when it launchs or pretty close to it. Sega has been known to take risky moves and it ends up costing them in end. However, the port may not do as well as it would if it were to be re-released for the next generation platforms given Zeebo isn’t a international launch, and may never be released outside Europe and Sega know this. What would they end up doing? Putting it on either disc form with extra goodies, or putting it has a downloadable title. They know how big older games of Sonic are and it would make sense. Checkmate Sega.
