Apple Is Evil And Jobs Is Butthurt

Recently at Town Hall at One Infinite Loop, Steve Jobs attacked Google and Adobe. He called ‘bullshit’ on Google for their Don’t Be Evil mantra. I wonder why he’s so upset about it? Maybe it’s because Apple IS in fact an evil company. With their hip ad campaigns and yuppy marketing you’d never know how evil they are. Case in point, deleting songs off of your hard drive that you paid money for and never telling you.
Jobs then took a jab at Adobe stating that they were a lazy company. Lazy? Lazy for giving us some of the best media tools for both on and offline use? Lazy for helping to push the standard of FLV video which enables slower computers to watch high quality video online? You wanna know lazy? How about spending R&D money to give the public an oversized, overpriced iPod Touch. Yeah that’s lazy. You wanna know lazy? It took them 3 years to add MMS to the iPhone. 3 years ago I could buy a $20 phone at the grocery store that supported MMS. Was Apple’s head up their corporate asses or did they purposely not give us a feature that pretty much all cell phones have had for years?
Apple is pretty much the laughing stock of the industry right now. They just took 4 steps back as far as I’m concerned. Everyone that buys an iPad will be walking around with a huge brushed metal scarlet letter on their chest. The base model $500 iPad has 16gb of memory, no camera, no expandable memory or SD card slot. A 3G model will be out 30 days after the wifi model and will run you even more money. I like the no contract data plan but it’s just not enough. I think that fans wanted this tablet so much that Apple had to deliver something. The problem is that they had no idea what to do and based their whole design off of an artist rendering found on the internet.

Dumbing Down The Gamer

We’ve seen a lot of changes since the 1970’s. The blockbuster film was created when Lucas made Star Wars. Since then, Hollywood has gone apeshit with special f/x showcases that lack story or substance. The lack of intelligence in the viewership doesn’t influence Hollywood to think outside the box. This has unfortunately proliferated into video games. Read the rest of this entry »
Gamegeddon And How Much It Will Cost You
Gamegeddon is among us and as great as it is, it’s killing our pockets. I put together a personal Gamegeddon calendar just to show you how much I’ll be paying for Gamegeddon. I’m sure many of you have tastes just like mine and will probably end up spending the same if not more money of the span of these 7 months. This calendar should tell you why it’s so important for me to put games like Batman AA into my Summer gaming pile. There’s just not enough time for all of this stuff. I’m also probably going to put Assassin’s Creed 2 in the Summer pile too. Then sometime in the near future, I have to find time to go back and beat a bunch of Dreamcast, Sega Saturn and PS2 games. Life is great but it aint easy!
Total cost for Gamegeddon: $1880

A Letter To Infinity Ward

Dear Infinity Ward,
I’m one of your biggest fans. I’ve been playing Call Of Duty games since the first one. COD4 got more play on my 360 than any other game. Modern Warfare 2 is all that. It’s bigger, it’s better and it’s more addictive. Congratulations on keeping me as a fan. Now that the congratulatory bullshit is over… Read the rest of this entry »

Electronic Arts Makes A 180 Degree Turn Around

Last week I had the pleasure of attending the Naughty Or Nice EA event in NY. I knew what was in store for me but I didn’t realize that what I was going to see would more than live up to my expectations. I’ve been a fan of Electronic Arts since the Mail Order Monster days. They’ve been up and down over the years in my books. After seeing their new offerings I can honestly say that EA is living up to their name once again. Read the rest of this entry »
Kingslayer Puts The Cards On The Table Regarding Rockstar And Microsoft
I guess Hiphopgamer was on the radar after posting that Rockstar vidicle. I totally disagreed with it. I told him that developers make money off of game sales and use that money to make more games. How else could they make more games without money? Kingslayer took it upon himself to rebuttal Hiphopgamer’s vidicle. Here’s an excerpt with linkage:
At this point It’s beyond journalism whether a person gets’ their facts straight, or not. Gamers have a voice. It’s been thrown out the window. Business on the other hand has to be viewed in context. What I mean is simply this. Anybody, and I do mean anybody thinks that Microsoft just gave Rockstar 50 million dollars without any ability of getting it back. Is a damn fool…Seriously, and I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you.

The iTunes Store Has Deleted Songs Off My Hard Drive
I’ve been using iTunes for years. Once it was available for Windows I jumped at the opportunity to use it. I loved the interface and the organizational tools. It gave me a reason to start purchasing music online with the iTunes store, which was a welcomed alternative to buying plastic CD’s. After realizing that the iTunes store deleted songs that I owned off of my hard drive, I left Apple for my new love, Amazon.com. Read the rest of this entry »

IGN, Now With Press Releases
IGN rules the innernets when it comes to game journalism. Of course I personally don’t like the site. I don’t like the fact that they are the defacto gaming site for most gamers. I don’t like the fact that the publishers cater to the IGNs and Kotakus but forget about the smaller community sites. We are a squirrel trying to get a nut here. There are certain obstacles that we can leap. IGN however, is a pain in our side. As long as they exist, we have to work harder. No biggie, I’ve accepted that. Today, however, the funniest thing occurred. I opened up my email and received a letter from a PR agency that is working for IGN. Not only are they working for them, but they are spamming my inbox with info about IGN’s E3 predictions. The Bitbag has it’s own E3 predictions so why in the fuck do I care what IGN thinks about E3?! IGN is are our competition so WHY IN THE FUCK WOULD WE CARE!?!?! They have infiltrated the nets like a virus. There’s no escape. I have to play harder now. I have to beat them at their own game to prove to the world that IGN isn’t the only place to get exclusive news and reviews. As long as they exist, I can’t rest.
For all those who are interested, here’s the email: Read the rest of this entry »
Top 5 Video Game Disasters

As I sat in boredom over the holidays, I was thinking of my life in video games and all of the things that had a major affect on my gaming. I made a short list of some things that have happened in the last 20+ years of video games and came up with these top 5: Read the rest of this entry »
Kotaku Becoming The Star Magazine Of The Video Game Industry?
With the amount traffic that Kotaku gets, they still feel the need to bait their readers in with controversial news headlines. Today the headline was, “Former Capcom Employee Talks Sexuality of Street Fighter IV Developer’s President.” This came from an interview with Yoshiki Okamoto that was posted on 1up.com on 12/26/2008. The meta-tag title for the article was ’sex’. When you see this title you think to yourself, “What does this have to do with gaming?” Read the rest of this entry »
Why All The PS3 Hate?
If there’s one thing I’ve noticed this past couple of weeks, it’s the increased amount of disdain for Sony’s Playstation 3. It’s almost as if the whole industry has something against Sony for winning the last two generations. First Time Magazine, then Alleyinsider and now Kotaku. There’s a name for this and it’s called media sabotage. Read the rest of this entry »
