Electronic Arts Makes A 180 Degree Turn Around

ealogo

Last week I had the pleasure of attending the Naughty Or Nice EA event in NY. I knew what was in store for me but I didn’t realize that what I was going to see would more than live up to my expectations. I’ve been a fan of Electronic Arts since the Mail Order Monster days. They’ve been up and down over the years in my books. After seeing their new offerings I can honestly say that EA is living up to their name once again. Read the rest of this entry »

Kingslayer Puts The Cards On The Table Regarding Rockstar And Microsoft

I guess Hiphopgamer was on the radar after posting that Rockstar vidicle. I totally disagreed with it. I told him that developers make money off of game sales and use that money to make more games. How else could they make more games without money? Kingslayer took it upon himself to rebuttal Hiphopgamer’s vidicle. Here’s an excerpt with linkage:

At this point It’s beyond journalism whether a person gets’ their facts straight, or not. Gamers have a voice. It’s been thrown out the window. Business on the other hand has to be viewed in context. What I mean is simply this. Anybody, and I do mean anybody thinks that Microsoft just gave Rockstar 50 million dollars without any ability of getting it back. Is a damn fool…Seriously, and I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you.

The iTunes Store Has Deleted Songs Off My Hard Drive

I’ve been using iTunes for years. Once it was available for Windows I jumped at the opportunity to use it. I loved the interface and the organizational tools. It gave me a reason to start purchasing music online with the iTunes store, which was a welcomed alternative to buying plastic CD’s. After realizing that the iTunes store deleted songs that I owned off of my hard drive, I left Apple for my new love, Amazon.com. Read the rest of this entry »

IGN, Now With Press Releases

IGN rules the innernets when it comes to game journalism. Of course I personally don’t like the site. I don’t like the fact that they are the defacto gaming site for most gamers. I don’t like the fact that the publishers cater to the IGNs and Kotakus but forget about the smaller community sites. We are a squirrel trying to get a nut here. There are certain obstacles that we can leap. IGN however, is a pain in our side. As long as they exist, we have to work harder. No biggie, I’ve accepted that. Today, however, the funniest thing occurred. I opened up my email and received a letter from a PR agency that is working for IGN. Not only are they working for them, but they are spamming my inbox with info about IGN’s E3 predictions. The Bitbag has it’s own E3 predictions so why in the fuck do I care what IGN thinks about E3?! IGN is are our competition so WHY IN THE FUCK WOULD WE CARE!?!?! They have infiltrated the nets like a virus. There’s no escape. I have to play harder now. I have to beat them at their own game to prove to the world that IGN isn’t the only place to get exclusive news and reviews. As long as they exist, I can’t rest.

For all those who are interested, here’s the email: Read the rest of this entry »

Kotaku Becoming The Star Magazine Of The Video Game Industry?

With the amount traffic that Kotaku gets, they still feel the need to bait their readers in with controversial news headlines. Today the headline was, “Former Capcom Employee Talks Sexuality of Street Fighter IV Developer’s President.” This came from an interview with Yoshiki Okamoto that was posted on 1up.com on 12/26/2008. The meta-tag title for the article was ’sex’. When you see this title you think to yourself, “What does this have to do with gaming?” Read the rest of this entry »

Why All The PS3 Hate?

If there’s one thing I’ve noticed this past couple of weeks, it’s the increased amount of disdain for Sony’s Playstation 3. It’s almost as if the whole industry has something against Sony for winning the last two generations. First Time Magazine, then Alleyinsider and now Kotaku. There’s a name for this and it’s called media sabotage. Read the rest of this entry »
