New Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker Footage. Amazing
Wow. Just wow. This game looks better and better with each trailer. I’m amazed this is a PSP game and not a PS2 game. The power of the PSP really is much greater than what we originally thought. At first I was disappointed that the game Kojima was calling MGS5 was going to be on the PSP, but I see the potential here. The game is coming out in late May in the West exclusively for the PSP. Looks to be another great adventure with Big Boss.
Breaking News: New PSP Engine Released To Devs
I’m here today with a small but very important news announcement for PSP fans. The PSP has had a rough time since birth, we all can admit that, but, with the one nub analog and very few games that really utilize the PSP’s online capabilities, Sony hopes to change that with the introduction of the “PhyreEngine for PSP”. Let’s just wait and see when and what we’ll see from game developers once the new engine is implemented into a retail Triple A product.
“We’re very happy to see the continued popularity of PhyreEngine with the global game developer community,” said Teiji Yutaka, Senior Vice President, Technology Platform of SCEI. “PhyreEngine for PSP was developed in response to requests from the game developer community, and we hope that the release of the PSP version demonstrates our commitment and support for game developers on all our platforms.”
SCE will deploy various measures to further reinforce game development for the PSP system and will continue to expand the platform to offer interactive entertainment experiences only available on the PSP system.
Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 3 for PSP Features All-New 4-Player Co-Op
So many great games for the PSP have never been glorified as much as the SOCOM franchise. With the PSP’s lack of a right analog nub it’s always kept me at bay from most of my action based first and third person view titles on the platform.
Authentic Military Shooter Brings Immersive, High-Quality Console Experience
with Rich Visual Graphics, Enhanced Gameplay Features and All-New 4-Player
Co-op Mode
The great thing about the SOCOM series on the PSP is that the controls have always had very solid and capable control set, even with the lack of the other analog nub. See the very long press release if you so choose to except it.
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker Preview
Metal Gear Solid. YES! PSP game. No… These were my thoughts when I first heard about Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker at E3 last year. I was excited for another installment in the Metal Gear Solid franchise, but apart of me wanted to see Big Boss’s adventure back on the PS3 with all the bells and whistles we saw in MGS4. MGS3 is still one of my all-time favorite games, so apart of me wanted Big Boss to get all the attention that I felt was deserved.
That was then, and this is now. Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is now of the few reasons I’m very happy to have invested in a PSP. The game may not have the high production value of a console Metal Gear, but that has not stopped Hideo Kojima’s genius from making this PSP game look like a potential GOTY candidate. I don’t mean GOTY candidate versus only portable games, but I mean versus anything and everything that comes out this year.
