Hunted: The Demon’s Forge Screens

06_wargar_spell Hunted: The Demon’s Forge brings the dark ages back to our gaming platforms in the form of a beautifully rendered Unreal Engine 3, action adventure that allows for melee and cover based tactics. The game looks to change up the norm, when talking about the hack n’ slash genre. This is the first I’ve heard of this title being produced by inXile Entertainment and published by Bethesda Softworks. You can be I’ll be keeping my ear to the net for more information.

The press release offers you a more detailed background on many aspects of the game which include but not limited to Co-Op play, magic spells and a unique cover system which allows for tactical advantages while having the ability to use bows and magic for distanced attacks. Hit up the break for the entire presser and screens.

Sonic and Sega All Star Racing Review

I’ll admit that when I first got this game I was skeptical. It looked liked a Mario Kart knockoff with SEGA characters, and a way for them to make a quick buck. Surprisingly, I was very wrong about this game and the amount of fun I had with it.

Xaviant Licenses CryENGINE For Multi-Platform Game

logo_small

Announcement via News letter from Crytek. Being a big time computer games player, can’t wait to see what’ll be possible on the consoles using this new high end engine.

I’ve seen many videos show casing the CryEngine on the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360 but nothing on a console running in real time, not just watching a compressed video online. The truth will only be realized (to me) when I get to play a game on a console while running the engine.

With very high hopes for Crytek and this new engine, I personally feel like the Unreal Engine 3 is starting to look dated and to be quite honest, not all of the games that use the UE3  look that great. Here’s a quote from Xaviant LLC:

“Our strategy at Xaviant is to build games that can only come from the minds of gamers, which means we have to focus on our core discipline: game design. When we partnered with Crytek, we had high expectations for their product. However we had not anticipated the extent to which they exceeded those expectations. The rapid iteration and the number of tools we get ‘out of the box’ are remarkable. In just six short weeks we were able to create a ‘proof of concept’ demo with an incredibly high level of detail. And with the immense help of Crytek’s expert support, we even met the truly tough GDC deadline. In my opinion, anyone serious about making a game should check out CryEngine.” states Michael McMain, CEO of Xaviant LLC.

Hit up the break for the press release.

Sony’s Jack Move…I mean Move Controller

I don’t have a preference for motion controls, especially the idea that they will some how save the gaming industry. Watching Nintendo go from being doubted, and counted out in the early parts of this generation. It’s amazing to see how they are in the lead, but it’s not lost on me why they are.  I could go into detail about all of the reasons. Instead I’ll stick with the one that counts the most.  Motion control brought in more gamers, and found  a way to do it successfully. For other companies no matter the industry outside of Apple, and Nintendo find it hard to do introduce new products/services. Let alone, not lose their shirt, and make a profit. Even in losing game cycles Nintendo finds ways to still win. Where Nintendo drops the ball is in graduating their game audience. They could careless. This is why Sony’s Jack Move…I mean Move controller could be the end of Nintendo’s reign with the Wii. Read the rest of this entry »

New Medal Of Honor Screen Shots

These new screenshots came in last night from EA. Ding dong embargo dead. As you can see EA is clearly moving to take the Modern Warfare crown…again. A modern day Medal Of Honor. If this game lives up to the legacy of the series, you can count on a lot of happy gamers.

Clash Of The Titans Game Release This Summer

CotT

What do we have here? A game of a movie that’s over a decade old? Nope! The original Clash of the Titans movie  reminds me of the time when movies that showcased huge monsters and special effects were created with claymation styled effects. I loved it, but now it’s 2010 and everything is created via computer graphics. I have a huge screenshot gallery after the break. I’m was praying for an adventure that’s true to the classic movie, but after reading the press release, I found out that this new game from NAMCO BANDAI is making the game based on the upcoming remake of the same name. Let’s hope that the name doesn’t get tainted by the Videogame and/or Movie industry. Let’s go…..
