Red Dead Redemption: Life In The West

Today we’re proud to reveal an in-depth look at the life teeming inside Red Dead Redemption. Titled Life in the West, this full length video uncovers the hardships early 20th century settlers encountered, where everyday life brought a new struggle for survival. The vast, sprawling world of Red Dead Redemption hides unique challenges in every area, with wild bears and snow in the North, bandits and cattle rustlers in the West, to unrest and revolution in the South. Hundreds of characters populate each of the three areas, each with a distinct personality, and every area has its own unique ecosystem with a variety of animals and plant life.

The rich diversity of each area offers several types of challenges and rewards. Hunting allows reformed outlaw John Marston the opportunity to skin and sell the skin in town, while a bloody battle attracts vultures, who if shot, unlock sharp shooting challenges. Full of possibility and activity, the world of Red Dead Redemption reflects the immensity that was the Wild West.

Check Out The New Dead To Rights: Retribution Video And Screens

Union Cover

Earlier today I received access to a boat load of images for the up and coming title Dead To Rights: Retribution. I’ve never been a fan but to be quite honest every time information, screens or videos come around, I must admit one thing about DTR:R. This game gets more polished as it nears it’s launch date of April 27th, can’t wait to give it a whirl.

Dead to Rights: Retribution introduces new game play elements that unify the third person shooting and brawling genres for a brutal and relentless new action-driven experience. Introducing an innovative new hybrid combat system that seamlessly blends gunplay with hand-to-hand combat and AI partner, the game puts the full combat potential of a highly trained, highly agitated law-enforcement officer into players’ hands.

The All-Inclusive Final Fantasy XIV Preview (Gallery Included)

Final Fantasy XIV was announced at last year’s E3 shocking the crowd at hand. I would know since I’m probably one of the people you can hear yelling “What!” when they announced it. I was shocked that they were announcing XIV before the release of XIII. Then it all made sense to me when it was announced that this game would be the followup to Final Fantasy XI, and a MMO as well.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Review

When it comes to FPSs, I want them realistic. I am a long time fan of the Tom Clancy’s close quarter (Rainbow Six) and open range (Ghost Recon) series. In fact, the only “arcadey” FPSs I have ever enjoyed were Quake and Unreal Tournament (I am still a fan of the prior to this day). What makes those two games stand out? These are games where skill really prosper. Recently, FPSs and shooters in general are really popular. This had led to them becoming increasingly appealing to the casual market. What do I mean by this? There are lots of shooters on the market where the “Rambo” approach is not only a viable option, but is even encouraged. The weapons will bear the names of real weapons, but work nothing like they do in real life. Gun recoil is imaginary. In fact, guns apparently have no weight at all.

Choices Made In Alpha Protocol Will Affect Potential Sequels

SEGA and Obsidians upcoming spy action-RPG, Alpha Protocol, is all about choices and the way you play the game. Your choices will not only affect story, but your appearance and the type of spy you are. Many have compared their choice system to what we see in the Mass Effect franchise.

Well in possible future installments of the game they will be also having your decisions in the original Alpha Protocol have an impact on the future games stories. Think of what Bioware did with Mass Effect 1 and importing your player to the sequel. The choices you will make will carry over throughout the franchise.

Batman: Arkham Asylum Game Of The Year Edition

Batman In 3D

Batman is back and this time in full 3D, glasses and all. When people used to talk about a Batman game, most of the hardcore gamers would cringe at the thought. Then we get Batman: Arkham Asylum for the PS3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC, making us all fall back into love with the video game franchise.

John Gay – Engine Programmer at Rocksteady:

Hopefully the additional novelty of the 3D mode will entice some players to experience a great game that they might have otherwise overlooked!

Hunted: The Demon’s Forge Screens

06_wargar_spell Hunted: The Demon’s Forge brings the dark ages back to our gaming platforms in the form of a beautifully rendered Unreal Engine 3, action adventure that allows for melee and cover based tactics. The game looks to change up the norm, when talking about the hack n’ slash genre. This is the first I’ve heard of this title being produced by inXile Entertainment and published by Bethesda Softworks. You can be I’ll be keeping my ear to the net for more information.

The press release offers you a more detailed background on many aspects of the game which include but not limited to Co-Op play, magic spells and a unique cover system which allows for tactical advantages while having the ability to use bows and magic for distanced attacks. Hit up the break for the entire presser and screens.

Sonic and Sega All Star Racing Review

I’ll admit that when I first got this game I was skeptical. It looked liked a Mario Kart knockoff with SEGA characters, and a way for them to make a quick buck. Surprisingly, I was very wrong about this game and the amount of fun I had with it.
