Risen Gives ‘Insert Original DVD’ Error on Vista and Win7 Machines
If you just bought Risen for the PC and are getting this error you can work around it. Deep Silver has not issued a fix and it’s a damn shame because there are plenty of people who can’t play this game right now. To work around the bug, open the DVD in explorer and run the Autostarter. When the Autostarter loads, just click the ‘Play’ button. Again, Risen will not load from the start menu at all, you have to run it from the Autostarter. I hope this helps anyone out there that’s having the problem.
Corsair offers your Power hungry PC some food
Crysis, Gear of War, Assassins Creed, and Fallout III just to name a few pc titles that require a boat load of CPU and GPU processing power. If you have ever experienced sluggish game play, slow keyboard and/or mouse responsiveness then believe it or not, it could very well be that your computers power supply is lacking the wattage to supply the graphics and computing wattage needed to run at peak performance. Personally for my RIG builds, I don’t like to start putting together a new computer with out first knowing what type of power supply I’m going to be putting into the tower.

Gabe Newell Down Under
Valve’s Gabe Newell joked about flying to Australia to see Joe W-A’s Half-Life mod. Well Joe raised $3,000 to get him there and he will be on his way soon. He was able to raise the money in 48hrs flat. This is how strong the gaming community is. I’d like to see us come together and do more stuff like this. Read the rest of this entry »
Star Wars: Old Republic BETA sign up
Looks like it’s that time again for some BETA testing goodness, but this time the game that needs a few good men (or women) is Star Wars: The Old Republic. It seems to me like a lifetime for me, waiting around for an online MMO within the Old Republic time line. This particular story line within the Star Wars world, for some reason captivated me more so than the newer stories of the franchise. Read the rest of this entry »
