I had a chance to spend sometime with Forza 3 today. Turn 10 has really stepped up their game. F3 runs at 1080p native, 60fps. They will have 400 cars, 100 tracks and HD video uploads. Each car has 10x more polygons than they did in F2. I played a few games and it felt really good. The damage system so far is pretty much the same although I didn’t see any parts falling off. It’s still early though.

Control wise it actually feels better than F2. The cockpit view is a welcomed feature. I don’t know why they left it out of F2. They had a huge 3 screen demo setup and you could really see the 1080p at work. They couldn’t answer any questions on what they are doing with multiplayer but if it’s anything like F2 it will win for sure.

HD video edits will go straight to the Turn 10 servers where you can share them with anyone. So you don’t need a copy of F3 to watch the edits. I wish they would do this with Halo 3.

So far Turn 10 has delivered. The final version arrives this fall. I’ll have some 2mof’s uploaded before the weekend.

I know it sounds crazy, but here’s my reasoning.

1. Ubisoft held a press conference and didn’t show ANY in game footage, only a trailer. How do you not show any gameplay of one of your flagship titles at your OWN conference?

2. The first gameplay footage was shown at the Sony conference and there was not one clip shown at Microsoft’s conference.

3. The PSP version of the game works together with the PS3 version.

4. All the posters for Assassin’s Creed II have no system info on them. No Xbox or PS3 logos. Their other game, Splinter Cell does say Xbox 360.

5. There aren’t any Assassin’s Creed II demos in Microsoft’s booth.

6. Ubisoft only has the PS3 version in their booth.

Some PR rep has told me that it is indeed coming out for the 360. I’m thinking timed exclusivity maybe? Why no 360 or PC showing? Maybe they are finishing the PS3 version first? Maybe I’m just crazy.

I had my doubts at first. I hate using videos to judge games. I became a victim of that and could slap myself for it. I played Bayonetta for the first time today. It completely blows DMC4 out of the water and will have God Of War fans nodding in appreciation. The female lead is a beautiful design and is the physical manifestation of titillation. What has me excited so far from Nintendo: Nothing really . . . Metroid: The Other M has me somewhat excited, but what’s Team Ninja without their Master Ninja? What is the other other M? Mario?

Other title I will definitely be checking out is Wet (formerly from Sierra). Perhaps we can get a 1v1 interview with Eliza Dushku.

UPDATE: I clearly was more ambitious than I was able to deliver. There was so much at E3 this year that I could not do the “What you Want to Know” post, but hopefully the other Bitbag boys will be able to hook you guys up with info some time this week.

Right now Nintendo is the biggest video game publisher in the world. The president of Nintendo, doesn’t play games. Check the video at about the 1 min mark for laughs. This was brought to you by STFUandPLAY.

I got a chance to see Brink today at Bethesda’s booth behind closed doors. From the time they turned on the monitors to the end of the demo I was completely flabbergasted. 60fps, 100’s of gigabytes of textures squeezed into 14mb, particle effects, on the fly role changes and a new technology called S.M.A.R.T. Think of Killzone 2’s graphics, but better, running at 60fps. It’s unbelievable what they are doing with this older technology. The 360 and PS3 are far from tapped. The demo showed the PC version. I’ll have a full interview posted soon. No video or pictures or sound was allowed. Internet connections are terrible here.

Yay, the first spawn of LBP has been announced under the name of ModNation Racers. ModNation is Mario cart meets LBP and do they ever go well together. The character customization is very impressive, it looks to be a little bit deeper then LBP’s and that’s saying a lot. The coolest aspect of this game to me is the map creator. You can definitely tell the dev’s played Far Cry because it is very similar, which is great because there is yet to be a game that beats Far Cry’s map editor. Well enough of my thoughts here’s the demo they showed at Sony’s conference. Enjoy!
