The team that brought you The Ocarina of Rhyme is at it again, this time with Vinyl Fantasy 7. Vinyl Fantasy 7 is, as you might have guessed, an eclectic mix of Final Fantasy VII tunes and rap vocals from artists such as: Jay-Z, MF DOOM, Outkast, Ghostface Killah, and many more.
Vinyl Fantasy 7 can be purchased on the Team Teamwork website for the price of your choosing, with no possible minimum. That’s right, you can pick it up for absolutely nothing if you so choose, and that’s the beauty of it. Team Teamwork are willing to bring you this whole high quality album for free, an act of generosity that warrants a donation in itself if you ask me. Perhaps I’d give even more if they had some Saul Williams on there.

The Bitbag 2009 Editor’s Choice Award Nominee Picks: Chad Betteridge

So now that Torrence and Spenny’s picks are out of the way let’s move on to mine. Be warned that I, much like Torrence, did not have a chance to play Demon’s Souls at the time of writing this. If I had it probably would have made the list, but it can’t be helped. On to the nominees! Read the rest of this entry »
Bleeps and Bloops: One of Gaming’s Greatest Virtues

Music. Music is the art form of sound which is enjoyed throughout the entire world, and perhaps even beyond it. The true definition of what constitutes music has been debated for years and years with no resolve, but I personally consider it to be any audible sound which results in the enjoyment of a listener. This means that the definition of music changes depending on the person. While what one considers music changes from person to person, few would argue the fact that gaming has brought us some truly amazing soundtracks year after year. From Kondo to Uematsu, from O’Donnell to Tallarico, gaming has been blessed with a number of outstanding composers. Why is it then, that it still remains one of the most overlooked features in a game? How often do you hear “Yeah I thought the bgm on the 5th stage was some of the best stuff I’ve heard in years” in casual gaming conversation, compared to “The detail in that level was outstanding, very easy on the eyes”? This is more than just bleeps and bloops, this is music in gaming. Read the rest of this entry »
Kanye On Jay Leno
Just to continue with this non-game or tech related stuff. I guess since Kanye is willing to help anyone out, he’ll produce her next album for free and do some tracks on mine.
Beyonce Is A Real Class Act
Non-Video Game or Tech related, but I think everyone should see how much of a class act Beyonce is.
The iTunes Store Has Deleted Songs Off My Hard Drive
I’ve been using iTunes for years. Once it was available for Windows I jumped at the opportunity to use it. I loved the interface and the organizational tools. It gave me a reason to start purchasing music online with the iTunes store, which was a welcomed alternative to buying plastic CD’s. After realizing that the iTunes store deleted songs that I owned off of my hard drive, I left Apple for my new love, Amazon.com. Read the rest of this entry »
