Let’s begin with 5 simple words: this is not Star Trek.

It really is that simple. The new movie has several shades and flavors of the original series, and of course the hallmark characters, but – as pre-release media has made clear – J.J. Abrams has not so much “rebooted” the franchise (the popular term), as created something new with samples of the original spliced into the backbeat. That works great in (some) music; how does it do for one of the most revered sci-fi franchises in Western history?

I was shocked to find out moments ago on twitter that Dom Deluise passed away in his sleep. He was 75 years old. Dom was an inspiration to big guys everywhere and was the first big screen super hero! Rest in peace Captain Chaos!

Jon and Lee do a little more catch-up this week as they talk about the games they’ve been playing and the movies they have been watching. They also take time to talk about the month in XBLA as well as a preview of what’s to come from EA this week. The show ends with a shout-out to the fans of the show.
