Corsair offers your Power hungry PC some food

CMPSU-950TXbox

Crysis, Gear of War, Assassins Creed, and Fallout III just to name a few pc titles that require a boat load of CPU and GPU processing power. If you have ever experienced sluggish game play, slow keyboard and/or mouse responsiveness then believe it or not, it could very well be that your computers power supply is lacking the wattage to supply the graphics and computing wattage needed to run at peak performance. Personally for my RIG builds, I don’t like to start putting together a new computer with out first knowing what type of power supply I’m going to be putting into the tower.

Magna Carta 2 in Screens, out in October Exclusivly on the 360

magnacarta_29

I got a chance to play the DEMO last week and to my amazement the game actually was quite different contrary to what other sites my say. The game does not have random battles in fact you actually see the enemies walking around (think FF XII) before you engage into a battle. Read the rest of this entry »

Shin Megami Tensei: Persona

Persona PSP
By no means is this a preview or a review of Persona. What it is is a fan of RPG’s offering his thoughts on a franchise he just got into recently.

Evangelion: 1.01 You Are (Not) Alone

Evangelion

What is Evangelion: 1.01 You Are (Not) Alone? It’s the first of 4 movies retelling the Neon Genesis series with redrawn animation, added scenes, and re-recorded voices. The movie skips all the unecessary diaglogue and just cuts to the chase without skipping any of your favorite moments. It has a more serious tone than the original series had, but it’s a welcomed change because it’s executed so well. If you have a chance to see it in a theater before it’s Nov 17th (US) DVD release, you should definitely do so. I really enjoyed watching the film and was wowed into a starry-eyed state. If you’re a fan of Evangelion it’s a must see for sure.

Games Com 2009 Report

It all went by so fast, but the experience is ever lasting. This year’s Games Com was amazing with all the hyped up games and sneak peeks at next year titles as well. Although I’m picky when it comes to purchasing games, the titles coming out this year and next will have my wallet crying.

Xbox Live! Games on Demand to cost an arm and a leg (price comparison)

Today was supposed to be a great day for Xbox Live! users as the new “SUMMER” dashboard update
was released to all connected Xbox 360s. For the most part the update has been well received and from what I have been seeing on Twitter and Facebook everyone seems to like the new features on Netflix and a ton of little tweaks to the UI for a more enjoyable experience. Now I for one love the Xbox 360 so please don’t think of this as a hate letter to Microsoft or the Xbox team. I am merely here to offer information to XBL users of a huge rip off (IMO) that is taking place right in from of our faces and that is the pricing of the games available on the new Game on Demand offering. I have never seen such a huge price difference in digital distribution vs retail pricing on any other platform. The following information is only here as a reference point and the prices are as of Aug. 11th and can change at any time from this point forward. I did a back and forth with XBL Games on Demand and Amazon.com for my comparison, so take this how you may. Read the rest of this entry »

My First Press Event!

Please let me take you on my first journey into the world of video game press events. Today August 5th, 2009, I was invited by Torrence Davis from our website, thebitbag.com, to join him and The Hip Hop Gamer at a press event that was being held by Deep Silver. Now, this is my first “Industry” event and I was a bit nervous because well…I was, and that’s about it. I was nervous of just about everything but to the high praise of Deep Silver, the people at the event where truly nice and very cool. Here’s the full Story: Read the rest of this entry »

g-Ripe: Post E3 Impressions from an Average Asian Gamer

Let the flaming wars begin. Not only do we have Xbox and PS3 fanboys, we have E3 fanboys now. How can you be a fanboy to an event? I don’t know. Ask all the folks who appear on “Fanboys.” Anyways, let’s get to the point. What did this “average Asian gamer” think of this year’s E3? A week has passed and I have had the weekend to reflect on the event and here’s what I say. E3 did come back . . . at least . . . in a sense. It felt like the old days. Last year’s was a nice change of pace and it was nice that it was easier to access VIP areas and get more interviews last year, but this year’s E3 is what it should all feel like . . . for the most part. I would say they are at about 75% of the glory days. Read the rest of this entry »

Impressions: Brink

I got a chance to see Brink today at Bethesda’s booth behind closed doors. From the time they turned on the monitors to the end of the demo I was completely flabbergasted. 60fps, 100’s of gigabytes of textures squeezed into 14mb, particle effects, on the fly role changes and a new technology called S.M.A.R.T. Think of Killzone 2’s graphics, but better, running at 60fps. It’s unbelievable what they are doing with this older technology. The 360 and PS3 are far from tapped. The demo showed the PC version. I’ll have a full interview posted soon. No video or pictures or sound was allowed. Internet connections are terrible here.

Impressions: Fat Princess

Well I’ve had a week to play Fat Princess and I must admit, it’s a true gem of a game. Take the concept of an RTS add the ability to control only one player on the field and you have one of the most original titles to hit PSN this year. Read the rest of this entry »

Impressions: MLB09 Hits Home On Multiple Playstation Platforms

I find it truly amazing that the best baseball game ever made could get better. Yep, you read it right, MLB09 is better than last years jaw dropper. The laundry list for this years outing is incredible.  Here are some of the new features:

  • Wear and tear on the field
  • Dusk to night lighting transitions
  • Online leagues
  • The ability to record your voice and add it to the crowd noise(Best feature ever in a sports game)
  • Enhanced custom MLB music tracks
  • Walk up music for each player

I’m kind of dissappointed because I haven’t finished my MLB08 season yet and with the feature set in this game, I might have to just put 08 down and jump on 09!  Not only did 08 have the best graphics in a baseball game, the entire feature set and franchise mode are also the best I’ve seen.  They enhanced those as well with the new game.  Of course you now get native 1080p/60fps graphics to boot.  Enjoy the trailer and look for screenshots and coverage of the PS2 and PSP versions in the next couple of days.
