Altered Beast arrives to POWER UP you retro needs
One of my first “ever” 16-Bit console titles I played was Altered Beast for the Sega Genesis. It was in 1989 when the Genesis launched with the bundled title and from the very beginning I was taken a back by the “shitty” but awesome voice audio in the game. From the beginning level your told to “Rise from your grave” to the “POWER UP” voice every time you picked up an energy orb for your transformation upgrades. Altered Beast will always hold a special place in my heart.

SF IV Launch Event
It’s been a long time. What brought me out of hibernation? SFIV. Here are some pics. Saw Bai Ling there. Ran into Aaron Greenburg who had much love for HipHop. Also, ran into Rob Welkner from Coin-Op TV. I got into the VIP area too late and missed Levar Burton. Check out more event pics after the break.
Namco Revisits The Museum For Xbox Live Arcade
I’ve always been a big fan of the Namco Museum since the PS1 days. Recently Microsoft pulled a lot of titles off of XBLA, including some Namco favorites. I had to wonder why they made that decision but wonder no more, Namco has just announced Namco Museum: Virtual Arcade. It comes with 30 classic games including 9 games from the XBLA and 21 games from their library. At a price of $29.99, you are paying less than $1.00 per game. Here’s the full release from Namco Bandai: Read the rest of this entry »
Drunken Gamer: Chapter 1
From the tip of my bottle to the bottom of my glass, I often times sit and reminisce the good ol’ days of gaming. Not just about how companies marketed poorly back in those days, but the progress of where games have come from and where they’re headed. What is the future of gaming? Would we even call it gaming in the near future? When we’re in our 60s and the grandchildren are playing the PS9, what stories could we tell them of the old days and how informative would we be about it? In this day and age of the “console wars”, you gotta think that perhaps somewhere down the line it just won’t fucking matter about graphics. Read the rest of this entry »

Want To Get Better At Street Fighter 3
SF3 is still the pinnacle of the series IMHO. If you are a proud Dreamcast owner like myself, you’d be a fool not to own Street Fighter 3: Double Impact or 3rd Strike. If you are new to owning one of these great titles and want to freshen up on your skills, head over to this link and check out some of the videos and guides this guy has posted. I never knew a thing such as Kara throwing even existed!
