The Android 7.0 Nougat has been released for Android devices last August. Since then, Google has released yet another update of the same operating system. Now, the Android 7.1.1 Nougat is available on the Google Pixel phone and starting Dec. 6, on the Nexus 6P.

Restart option in the power menu

Google has included a nifty feature to restart your Android device straight from the power menu. Gone are the days of long keypresses to turn the phone off and then turning it back on again. Now, users can do a hard reset straight from the power menu.

App shortcuts

Keep track of your favorite Google apps and have them at your disposal from anywhere in the screen through the App shortcuts. This feature is accessible both from the app launcher and drawer for a much quicker access. Users can now drag out shortcuts as individual home screen icons.

Tweaked out quick toggles

The quick toggle menu also receive a minor facelift on the next firmware update. Now, Google has added another row that shows settings for each icon group. No more swiping to the next screen for more settings options. Change screen brightness, wireless connectivity, and other system functions from just one UI panel.

GIF search capability in messenger

The Android 7.1.1 Nougat keyboard now features a cool new way of messaging friends and contacts; the new GIF search function. Now, anyone can send funny GIF from various sources on the internet with just one icon tap. The GIF search feature can be brought up by pressing on the new Emoji button right next to the space bar.

Gender equality emojis

In case none of you does not want to offend anyone, Google has now added some emojis that feature gender equality. The keyboard now has a dedicated emoji button to easily bring up the wide selection of gender-equal icons.
