The highly-popular game Minecraft continues to really rack of some absolutely incredible numbers in terms of raw sales.
It was just a week or so ago that we were reporting that the PC and Mac version of the game had reached a huge milestone with over 11 million copies in sales.
It now appears that the sales success expands far beyond just the PC and Mac platforms.
The company 4JStudios, which created Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition, has come out and states that the game has now sold more than seven million copies.
This makes it the best-selling Xbox Live Arcade title to date, an absolutely tremendous feat to say the very least.
The developer sent out a Tweet from their official account to confirm the news, stating, “Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition has now sold over 7 MILLION copies !!! #MinecraftXBLA.”
This is a huge accomplishment, as it was the belief that the game was going to have a very difficult time making the jump from the PC and Mac platforms onto the home console, the Xbox 360.
It has overcome the odds though and continues to get bigger and better with each and every update.
This is only the beginning for Minecraft on home consoles as well, as Minecraft: Xbox One Edition was confirmed at E3 2013 by Microsoft, in development for the Xbox One next-generation platform.
