WiFi Kill (Image Credit to prophethacker.blogspot.in)

Videogames don’t make violent people, lag does. It is a very common phrase these days and it actually is true. In fact, it doesn’t only apply to videogaming, but also to almost everything related to Internet activity and lag. We already know how lag happens and why it happens.

Some can be controlled and managed like reducing the running programs that are wasting your bandwidth, closing down unwanted apps, etc. Some cannot be controlled, like a problem with your Internet service provider (but this can actually be fixed if you would just contact your ISP) and other people leeching the hell out of your Internet speed (watching HD movies, downloading large files and TORRENTS). The good thing is, you can do something about leechers now and you can do it in the convenience of your Android device.

You can do this by logging in to your router, but that is time-consuming, so it is better to resort to a better alternative by using an app called WiFiKill. Using the app, you can temporarily “kick” people out from your WiFi. The funny, but interesting part is, you can do this on ANY WiFi network.

If your device is already rooted and is running on Android 4.0 or higher, you’re in luck because all you have to do is just download and install it. If yours isn’t rooted yet, you can follow this easy to do guide on how to root your Android device.

Simply download the WiFIKill Downloader App here. Once downloaded, simply install and run it. You will just have to select “Download and Install Free version” to try out the free version of the app and to see if you want more out of it. The free version has ads and the “timeout” limit is only limited to 5 minutes. No more, no less, but this should be enough to stop anybody from attempting to reconnect. The paid version doesn’t have any ads and you can set the timeout for any amount of time.

Once you launch the app, you will be presented with a list of connected devices to a certain WiFI network, You can tap “Grab All” to view details on each of these devices to have a clue on which device they are and how much bandwidth they are using on the network, as well as the most recently visited sites. You can simply tap “Kill All” to kick them all out at once, but this is a bit suspicious, especially if you’re the only one left connected, so kicking them out one by one would be the wiser decision. Just pinpoint those who are hogging most of the resources.

This may seem diabolical, but some people would just go to such lengths, for fun or for personal need. The interesting thing about this is that you can also use this on public WiFi, but don’t forget to disable the app once you leave.

A little note: Please only use this app during emergency situations, especially if you’re in a public place. Remember, sharing is caring!

What all the players waiting for Patch 2.1 want to know about the most are the Diablo 3 RoS new Legendary Items. While these items don’t have names, can be changed or simply not appear after the patch goes live, it’s still fun to see the insights and the what-ifs.

You can always argue that, “They put them in the code, why won’t they implement it?” Just think of the poor developers who had to type in ”Your pets do not die,” and their efforts all for naught.

So here are some interesting Diablo 3 RoS new Legendary Item affixes that I’ve come across thanks to DiabloFans:

  • ItemPassive_Unique_Ring_741_x1 - You are immune to Knockback and Stun effects.
  • ItemPassive_Unique_Ring_760_x1 - Gain the effect of all Armors.
  • ItemPassive_Unique_Gem_006_x1 - Critical hits cause the enemy to bleed for [{VALUE1}*100]% weapon damage as Physical over 3 seconds.
  • ItemPassive_Unique_Ring_744_x1 - Picking up gold heals you for an amount equal to the gold that was picked up.
  • ItemPassive_Unique_Ring_745_x1 - Lightning pulses periodically between all wearers of this item, dealing [{VALUE1}*100]% weapon damage.

Aside from these awesome new affixes, there seems to be a ring that gives you a passive skill from your skill roster. While it’s been reported that the Hellfire Amulet shall give this, I’m wondering why the datamined affixes show a ring. The Hellfire Ring, on the other hand, lets you be an elite with the ground spewing lava for 6 seconds and gives you a huge boost in experience gained. If they’re changing the mechanic of the Hellfire gear, this may be an indication.

Aside from Diablo 3 RoS new Legendary Item affixes, Blizzard Developers have also admitted to reworking a lot of the set gear, primarily Natalya’s Vengeance and the Firebird’s Finery. While these changes may or may not be welcome, we have to wait until Diablo 3 RoS Patch 2.1 goes live before we see any of these as official.

Marvelous AQL’s Rune Factory was a brave new game that dared to combine genres. It placed the tried-and-tested farming simulation many players have known to be associated with Harvest Moon and aimed to create a new game that focused on two things: farming and fighting. This time, they’re looking at a new venture, a strategy RPG that they’re set to name Forbidden Magna.

Forbidden Magna’s gameplay will follow a battle system no different from one that gamers encountered playing Valkyria Chronicles. However, expect the cute visual style of Harvest Moon in this one. The story of Forbidden Magna is centered around Lux, an inkeeper who manages to meet different ‘spirits’ in his journey. The more spirtis he meets during these journeys, the stronger he becomes.

He comes across a girl named Charlotte, who has seemingly lost her memories. Despite this, Charlotte is a very able travel partner; she has terribly destructive powers. Lux and Charlotte embarks on a journey that will reveal to them a very dangerous truth in the world they’re living in, and this sets the tone for the game.

Promising Things for Forbidden Magna

Sometime during this month, the game’s official site announced that there will be a bundle of five drama CDs, along with an eye mask, which comes along with the first copies of the game. The game staff developing it is excited about the game, stating that this game will be a bit similar and at the same time different from the other titles they’ve released so far. The first copies are packaged at around 5.980 yen (US $59) and will ship out on October 2 this year initially in Japan.

When the game was revealed, a lot of fans of the other games of Marvelous AQL took to social media and asked if the game was set to be localized in North America. The fans let their voice be heard in Xseed’s Facebook page. Xseed are also credited for bringing over Rune Factory 4 to North America, and is a subsidiary of Marvelous AQL. Xseed responded positively, saying that they are interested in the game.

Reacting to the status of the game as being fairly new, Xseed said that they are looking into the possibility of bringing the game over to the US. They said that it looks great, and that they cannot wait to check it out for themselves.

If you’re a fan of Marvelous AQL games, then brace yourself for the eventual release of this game. While Japan sales are an indication of whether a game would be localized or not, let’s hope that Forbidden Magna will actually do well enough to be localized in the U.S.

Remember Serious Sam? If you have played that game, then you might be familiar with Croteam, the developers of the classic series. Well, they’re back with a brand new game. But this is not any typical game you will see out there. In a post on the PlayStation blog, one of the writers from Croteam, Tom Jubert, released a few screenshots and a brief overview of what players can expect of their upcoming game The Talos Principle.

Jubert categorized the game as a first-person philosophical puzzler. Have we heard anything of that sort before? I believe not. He describes the game as atmospheric and a bit “sci-fi.” We can expect the game to be packed with secrets and mysteries so if you’re up for a challenge, then this game might be of interest to you.

Croteam has apparently been working lately on The Talos Principle as Jubert says that they are busy “finishing the game.” The game was first introduced last month during Sony’s PlayStation E3 press conference.

In the game, you take the role of a robot in a “digital recreation” of the ancient world. You explore a world full of puzzles and mysteries  while you are being guided by a mysterious voice up in the sky.

“We hope there’s loads here to dig into and piece together if you’re so minded, but equally if you’re just here for the puzzles it won’t get in your way,” Jubert said.

The game was conceptualized from the experimental puzzle mechanics that were being developed for Serious Sam 4. The team started experimenting until they decided to make a game out of it. The game is also said to be running using the latest Serious engine.

If you’re looking for something different and want to challenge your wits, then this is definitely something you must look into.

They also released a short teaser trailer of the game:

The game is expected to be released later this year on the PlayStation 4.

If you think that after 23 years, society has mined Super Mario World all of its secrets, you’re definitely mistaken. A Youtuber, A+Start and his buddy Masterjun3 have detailed an obscure glitch that provides players a Latiku cloud in Super Mario World’s second level that can be used to breeze through the stage in record time.

Since the glitch can be done by anyone with the original cartridge, this tactic has been considered as a speedrunning technique and is now being used by speedrunners to set new world records.

You can activate the glitch by doing the steps below.

  • From the world map, select Yoshi’s Island 1-2.
  • As a small Mario, go to the block at the level’s starting point and grab Yoshi.
  • Quickly jump next to the bushes right beside the red shell, then at the peak first bush, spit fire.
  • You will come across a green shell, eat it and hold onto it.
  • Jump over the ledges and stop before the fourth ledge. You should keep your speed up during this.
  • Press Down and Y to place the green shell on the fourth ledge’s edge.
  • Immediately press left so  that the fireball you spat earlier is going to hit the shell to produce a coin.
  • Hit X, A and right altogether at the exact time to make Yoshi swallow the coin.
  • During this action, push the R button to pan the camera to the right.
  • Then you’ done! The Latiku cloud will pop up in your item box as a glitched sprite.

You’re probably wondering why is this happening, right?  Well, you see, when Mario picks up a coin while Yoshi is in the middle of eating, a null sprite will be produced in Yoshi’s tongue. And for some unknown reason, panning the camera to the right results in filling this sprite with a Charging Chuck.
Basically, eating Charging Chucks is impossible, but it works under these unusual circumstances and the action of eating them is somewhat linked to obtaining a power-up. We’re not sure why this is happening exactly, as it is a detail that is supposed to be not possible, but our world is full of mysteries that we can only hope to comprehend.
