EA disabling ‘non-critical’ SimCity features to improve servers

EA disabling ‘non-critical’ SimCity features to improve servers

Electronic Arts is in the process of sending out a hotfix to improve the server issues SimCity players are facing.

The hotfix will entail some unmentioned improvements and the disabling of a few ‘non-critical’ gameplay features like leaderboards, achievements and region filters according to a community manager on EA forums.

It was stressed by EA that “disabling these features will in no way affect your core gameplay experience.”

SimCity‘s ‘always-online’ requirements have brought some major issues to players. Many not even being able to play the game they bought. Diablo 3 had a similar problem when it was launched.

EA is working on fixing these issues and will be adding more servers.
