PS3 price drop coming soon

As the PS4 announcement came, we would all assume that there would be a price drop for the popular PS3 console right?

When the PS3 was introduced we were stung with a high price tag, well it was expected wasn’t it? After all, it was far ahead of any competitors so I guess you get what you pay for?

Outspoken video games analyst, Michael Pachter thinks that Sony will drop the price to as low as $199 either at the PlayStation Meeting New York event itself, or at least a few days after.

Pachter believes that the PS3 discount will happen a few days after the PS4 announcement followed by Microsoft dropping the price of the Xbox 360.

At present this is only speculation however with the new PlayStation 4 confirmed, it’ll be a difficult sell for Sony to have an expensive tag on the PlayStation 3.
