Mass Effect release date confirmed for PS3

Mass Effect release date confirmed for PS3

A couple of months ago we reported that the original Mass Effect will finally be making its way onto PS3 and today the cat’s out of the bag. Mass Effect’s External Producer Ryan Warden has confirmed that Commander Shepard’s first meeting with the Reapers will be making its debut on the North American PSN Store this coming December 4th, 2012 (December 7th in Europe). Along with that, the physical Mass Effect Trilogy release will also be on store shelves on the same day.

Further on with the good news, Mass Effect on the PS3 will come with Bring Down the Sky DLC — for both the digital and physical versions. Mass Effect 2′s DLC on the other hand will feature Cerberus Network, Kasumi, Overlord and Lair of the Shadow Broker (sigh of relief!). Mass Effect 3 though will not have any DLC packed in with so it comes in its entirely vanilla form.

Warden also said he and his team worked around the clock just to ensure Mass Effect at least ran as well as it did on the Xbox 360, if not better.

Once again, for those who has always been wanting to experience entire Mass Effect Trilogy on the PS3, mark your calendars for December 4th, 2012. The fight with the Reapers and many other alien species are waiting for you.

[UPDATE] And here’s the official Mass Effect Trilogy trailer, for those who still needs convincing in picking up this fine franchise.
