Borderlands 2 on Xbox 360 getting patch for hack

Gearbox has announced that Borderlands 2 on the Xbox 360 are being hacked by users who are “violating the Xbox Live Code of Conduct.”

These users are using an external application “to maliciously disrupt the experience and sabotage characters of legitimate Borderlands 2 players on Xbox 360.”

Gearbox has sent a patch to Microsoft for certification and it will be released as soon as possible, in the mean time there are a few ways to avoid the hack.

Gearbox suggests avoiding public games with unknown players for now and to always select “Save & Quit” before quitting the game or turning off their Xbox 360. If you find yourselves at the main menu of the game after death instead of respawning in-game, you must select “Continue” immediately.

Let us know in the comments below if you’ve experienced any of these problems.
