Mass Effect 4 won’t star ‘Shepard 2′ says Bioware

The next Mass Effect title will star a hero/heroine that will be different from Shepard.

Speaking with VG247, Bioware Montreal producer Fabrice Condominas said the studio is definitely looking at making another Mass Effect game but with a totally different hero.

“There is one thing we are absolutely sure of – there will be no more Shepard, and the trilogy is over.” said Condominas.

Condominas said with Mass Effect‘s vast and rich universe, the studio is still gathering ideas and feedback from the teams and hasn’t determined which time frame they will set the next title in.

“So first, we don’t want to make ‘Shepard 2?, or Mass Effect 4 with like, ‘oh there’s no more Shepard but you’re a soldier in the universe’. So this will be a very, very different context for sure, and nothing has been decided on the rest.” said Condominas regarding the next game’s protagonist.

Let us know what kind of character you hope to play as in the comments below. I certainly wouldn’t mind playing as an Asari.
