With Square Enix’s announcement of Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix, it will only be natural for them to re-release Kingdom Hearts 2 in HD too.
That is what series director Tetsuya Nomura told Famitsu (via Gematsu).
When asked if Kingdom Hearts 2 would be getting the HD treatment, Nomura replied, “It’d be unusual if there wasn’t,”
He also shared new details on Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix. Character models will be replaced with those from Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance and gameplay will be closer to Kingdom Hearts 2.

its called 1.5 for a reason. it has KH1 and practically everything that happened in-between KH1 and KH2. accept it. there might be a second hd collection (my guess is KH2 KHBBS (playable) and KHRecoded (cutscenes))
